Re: Infamous (by Sucker Punch) PS3
I was going to go buy this after work but peeked in here and saw people complaining about being sniped too often and it was taking the fun out of the game and annoying them.
I don't want to go spend $60 on a game and then come home after work to relax and play only to get frustrated by getting sniped in the head again and again. Can you guys please let me know if this is really an issue or have some people exaggerated it's effects maybe a bit?Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

I picked up my pre ordered version from Gamestop today. If you pre-ordered you go t a code for a super power download. From what I have read it's a melee attack that is super strong.follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/eton_riflesComment

Re: Infamous (by Sucker Punch) PS3
My copy will arrive tomorrow. I'm a little hesitant on it because of the posts about sniping but don't think it will kill the experience. I'll just do as mentioned and that is increase the health.
Also, do stats and XP carry over on the next play though?
Also what difficulty is everyone playing on?Comment

What do you mean the next play?
...and dont let the sniping stop you from buying this game, its not the staple of the game, just annoying as you go through it... you'll get used to it and again you can recharge near any electrical object, from a car to a light pole.Comment

Like once if I was to play it through as hero and the second time as a bad guy, would the stats and XP reset back to 0?Comment

Re: Infamous (by Sucker Punch) PS3
Well I played almost two hours last night and only completed about 4% of the game. I have to admit that I was slightly disappointed last night because the demo was more fun. You had a lot of powers unlocked in the demo. You start off the game with barely anything. In the demo you could ride electrical wires, float while jumping, had shock grenades, could heal people, pound the ground when jumping and also had the shockwave. Plus I acquired the lighting bolt at the end of the demo.
I can't remember if I had the shockwave early last night but you only really start with your lightning bolts. That kind of sucked. There is a lot of story telling early on and the missions weren't quite as fun as the ones in the demo but I know that will pick up. I did acquire the ability to heal/drain people, pound the ground and shockwave as I played. I miss my shock grenades though and hopefully I can ride the electrical wires soon. There are many other powers I’ve yet to acquire (some in the strategy guide seem cool and others are dependent on whether you are good or evil). I preferred being a bad *** in demo with many powers. I felt neutered early on. I know this complaint will change once my character gets more experience but I was a bit impatient last night.
This game looks like it will take me a long time to complete. Can't wait to get more into the meat and potatoes. I’m going heroic but I think it would be a lot easier to be evil. It’s too hard not having collateral damage in fights.Comment

This game is SOOOOO addicting.
I'm playing through as good first, then going back and doing evil.
[EDIT]
I just manually saved and rechecked my stats again. I'm actually 20% done, and I have 26 powers and upgrades, most of which I mentioned aboved.Last edited by Guest; 05-27-2009, 11:11 AM.Comment

There are certain things you have to do to restore power in the city that gets you the powers...but I told you guys you dont start off with those powers. The parts of the demo all come in later during the game too, btwComment

I can't believe you can't glide yet Dickdalewood! The precision sniping sounds cool. How many blast shards have you found? I haven't looked that hard and I think I only have the obvious one they practically gave me.
Looking forward to playing it again tonight. Reapers beware! I may be heroic but I don't believe in handcuffs!

Re: Infamous (by Sucker Punch) PS3
Im over 25% done and I still can't glide. I can rail slide though
I've found shards to add another electrical notch then it starts all over again. I must've done this about 3 or 4 times already.
When you get that concentrated beam .... it drains all the extra power you have at once... the electro bombs do too but one at a timeComment
