Re: Infamous (by Sucker Punch) PS3

I'm a bit confused about the game's length here.

Some of you have listed percentages on how much you've completed. Well the only percentages I see is after I finish a side mission. I'm now at 60 percent just doing mostly side missions.

I mean say there are 50 story missions, and you only completed 3 of them....shouldn't your percentage be 6 %??

My main mission I just completed the train mission that was in the demo.....

how far a long am I??

    thanks....

btw: this game is a drug. The thing that i appreciate is that the combat is not totally mindless. You need to some flanking, some escapes, some cover. A lot more varied than I ever expected.

And the platforming is awesome, you really feel like a superhero the way you maneuver all around the buildings and such.

Last thing is the side missions: I don't know bout the rest of you, but I love some of the side missions. My favorite is finding the hidden package. Creative this dev team I tell you.

    9/10 easily.....

The percentage you're seeing after you complete a side mission is how much of that area of the city you have cleaned up. If you want to see how much of the actual game you have completed, after you have saved, go back into save game, and the PS3 save file will tell you how far along you are.

After completing the first mission, the maximum is only 100.

      0-200 = Guardian/Thug
      201-500 = Champion/Outlaw
      501-800 = Infamous

I try healing as many people as I can to help my cause. Tonight I think I'm going to not bother with any missions. Just going to hunt for blast shards, audio drops and Reapers. I need to kick some more butt for XP.
The only thing that confuses me is, I'd say about three times now, I've completed a mission, and it will say, "Your actions have made you slightly more evil". It's typically the missions where I have had to fight a ton of dudes, do you think I may have just killed a few civilians or caused too much destruction? That's the only thing I can think of...

I'm still way up at "Hero" (the arrow is ALMOST all the way to the tope), but man, every time I've gotten that red screen, I'm just like "NOOOOOOOO", lol.

I'm going to attach a file with Stunt descriptions. I wrote that from the strategy guide. Some of it's paraphrased but a lot is from the guide. If that's against the TOS, just let me know and I'll remove the attachment.
        Thanks!

I know I've hurt some civilians with my actions but I try to heal up as many as possible afterwards. Have you used any fully upgrade powers yet as a Hero? The powers are fantastic.

(I'll attach my earlier powers write-up as well).

70 missions. Plus the 15 side missions for each side for a total number of 100.

Was the demo a good representation of the actual game as a whole? I did not find the demo to be as great as I hoped it would be. The constant mile away shots that would hit me were getting frustrating real quick.

I can't answer the whole story line question but there are 15 side missions exclusively for someone who is good. There are 15 side missions exclusively for someone who is evil. Whether the overall story arc is different I don't know.

Plus, the powers you gain along with the upgrades are a bit different depending on your karma. There is one power that only a good Cole can perform and one power only an evil Cole can perform. The stunts are easier to pull off if you are good due to some of the good powers (mainly reverse magnetism with shockwave).

                      Man, I'm hooked.

The climbing/jumping is so well-done (it could have been a mess) that I love just roaming the rooftops.

I now see how some of you said how easily it is to get lost in this game as I just got lost in the hours. Very fun and addicting game and time sure flies by.

                        Interesting story as well.

Well, you actually can't just play for 10 minutes, because you can't seem to save and quit in the middle of a mission :P

I love this game so far - best console non-sports game I've played in a long time.

The game uses an autosave and manual saves won't capture anything in the middle of a mission. Checkpoints are just soft saves and if you don't complete the mission before turning it off, you lose your stuff (pretty sure - says something like this in the guide).

I haven't used the map feature much but will start using the custom waypoint feature. You can hit X after using Select to bring up the map and mark a purple custom waypoint which will show up on the radar. This should be useful to mark areas you want to come back to.

have you been able to get it to draw line to the waypoint... seems to me or at least all I can do is mark the spot with a dot
