Currently downloading the demo now... i'll come back with impressions when it's finished (gotta love PSN's game sharing)
here's my cousin's impressions though:
Wow, seriously, if you only have a 360, I really feel sorry for you. This game is just amazing. I really wish they woulda gone multiplatform with this cuz every gamer needs to experience it. Even if it's not your kind of game, you have to experience it for yourself to feel the level of freedom it gives you.
The depth of the electricity powers is amazing. It's everything that The Force Unleashed should have been and more. Even at the start of the demo where you only have a few powers there's so much you can do and so many ways you can use them.
The locomotion is so fluid and sick cuz you can scale just about anything, land on all kinds of weird miscellaneous objects in the world and keep it moving. And the gliding is sick too. That gives the whole experience another layer and the feeling that you're a Super-Hero-In-Training.
EDIT: To be more specific the feel of the scaling is somewhere between Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia. It's as specific and in control as Assassin's Creed so it's not like your hand is just being held through it all as in POP, but it's real smooth and fast paced as in PoP and not sluggish and too weighty as in AC. It's the perfect balance.
The combat is sick too with the different ways you chain together your melees with the electricity powers. There's a learning curve there, what with stringing the attacks fluidly, but one of those good ones where you're actually enjoying learning how to manipulate the freedom that's given to you and experimenting with different things. It's so ill to jump onto a pole all homo, juice yourself from the pole all homo, shock a couple dudes from far away then jump down a do a shockwave to everyone else, then go heal a bunch of people cuz you feel bad for f**king em up too in the middle of the mayhem. AND there's a cover system so that helps a hell of a lot.
This game is fun as hell. There's no other way to describe it, it's just pure fun. Extremely well made. For anyone sleeping on this game, you're in for a wake up call. I can't wait for the full game to get a real feel for the narrative because it's looking good so far with the nice cartoon cutscenes so that'll be the icing on the cake. if you put someone else's PSN account on your PS3, you can view their download history and download what they've downloaded (exclusive demo's, game addons, themes, full PSN games, etc) and so long as you keep their account on your PS3, you'll be able to play those games and keep those items and suchhttp://www.myspace.com/phillthegenesis
