Saints Row 2 delayed to October. No surprise here.

According to a report on Reuters, THQ has announced plans to delay the release of Saints Row 2 into the fall. Formerly slated to ship in August, the game is now targeting an October 14 release. The move will allow THQ to further polish the game and put together a stronger marketing strategy prior to its release.

"Product quality is a huge driver of a game's success and this move allows us to polish the game. The game is done, it's about polish," Bob Aniello, senior vice president of worldwide marketing, told Reuters in an interview.

If anything, the delay should give you more time to nail down a 100% completion status in Grand Theft Auto IV before the next game like it releases.

Heh, they're probably trying to screw up Rockstar's plans for GTA DLC on that date. Either they're hoping that they release it as scheduled in August and the hype dies down before SR2 release, or hoping that Rockstar gets berated for pushing the date back for DLC to coincide with the Saint's Row 2 release again..

Too bad though, I'm fairly excited for this game.

Looking forward to customized characters and robbing stores. Think I may like it more than GTA. Probably won't have a story line as in depth as GTA though.

This is not such a bad idea when you think about it. Mercs 2 was suppossed to come out 5 days after this in August so perhaps THQ just wants it in a diiferent compettitive time. The theory about it coming out arounfd the same time as the GTA4 dlc makes a bit of sense. I have heard one or two things about Rockstar and Volition not liking each other very much.

I think Saints Row will have online co-op, something GTA isn't really anywhere near offering, so to get that tight makes total sense...gotta accentuate your positives

Man I forgot you could rob stores in SR

I can't wait for this game to come out. GTA will likely take a backseat, which is why I didnt care about DLC in the first place.
