I'm playing this from GF and it's fun, but I think I'll send it back...too much to play right now and it's not totally hooking me like other games have right now. Maybe another time I can get into it more. I hate all these games dropping at once

Anyway, any word on a patch for this game? I read that if your a Brick 360 owner, clearing out your cache may help w/ freezing problems, but no word for us PS3 owners (that I can find anyway)...

I have it for ps3 and I have had zero freezing problems.

"I Keep Forgetting" was sampled by Warren G for the song "Regulate" with Nate Dogg.

Also, Jadakiss sampled the song for his song "When Kiss is Spitting" which also features Nate Dogg singing a similar hook to the one on the original song.

I have it for ps3 and I have had zero freezing problems.

I'm getting them now every time I play. The thing is, it NEVER happens during a mission, only when messing around in the streets or doing activities. It is becoming the most annoying thing b/c I'm having so much fun w/ it other than the freezing. My gaming time has turned into maybe a couple of hours or so a week, so when I play for an hour and then it freezez up in the middle of something, I have to start all over and that's def. no fun.

From what I've read on the SR forums, they have sold several hundred thousand copies and only a small % of XBrick 360 and PS3 owners are experiencing freezing issues.

I think I've only had it freeze once on PS3,if that. Figured I just as well wait for the new TV before doing the rest of the side stuff.

If anyone wants Saints Row 2 for PS3 I am getting rid of it. Not enough time for it and it never really spiked my interest. To cartoony and over the top for me.

I've had my game(for 360) freeze twice. The only one that really irked me was when I was very far in one of the last brotherhood missions and it froze when I was close to beating it. The other one was during one of the ronin missions it was also closer to the end but it was a very easy mission so it didn't bother me.

That's good to hear that only a small percentage of ps3 and 360 owners are having freezing problems. The first Saints row on 360 had horrible problems with freezing.

I remember that too. My SR on the 360 would always freeze when I was driving. It was the one where the car would disappear around you and you'd just sit there in mid air w/ things going on around you. The thing I hate about this one is that it locks up my ps3 where I have to shut the whole thing down, not just exit to the dash board and restart the game.

I'm just praying for a patch soon, otherwise I'll have to find something else to do w/ my gaming time other than video games(I have nba 2k9 but I'm not really enjoying it this year so far...haven't touched it in 2 weeks or so).

I wonder if your Blue-Ray drive is going? That sounds like other things I have heard with bad drives on the ps3.

I thought the same thing, but the couple of blu ray movies, plus my nba 2K9, college hoops 2k8 and recently GTA4(I traded it in) all worked w/o issue. But it is still possible I suppose. Last night I played for roughly 45 minutes w/o a freeze which was nice, but that's been the exception to the rule for me so far.

For once I'm hoping that I'm in the small % of people that this game is just freezing up on instead of it being my blu ray drive seeing that I just bought it in feb '08. If this thing breaks down any time soon, then my gaming "career" will be over just b/c I'm tired of dealing w/ the hassles of warranties, shipping and above all else, expensive hardware kicking the bucket on me.

Besides, my interest in video games has dwindled down to a couple of sports franchises and the occasional sandbox game. Family and making money have become my favorite hobbies over the last few years anyway :wink:

I played last night and did not have any freezing issues again, so I had a great time playing. I have to say that for once, I'm having more fun so far doing the activities as opposed to the actual story line/missions. I liked the variety of activities on the first Saint's Row, but I think they really took it to another level on SR2.

I've enjoyed the game. I only rented it and I had more fun with it than GTA.

I got a new TV and I'm trying to play this but I'm having some settings related problems...

720p is alright.
1080p looks better than 720p but there's a ton of screen tearing.
1080i looks slightly better than 720p but there's more screen tearing but not as much as with 1080p.

I know it's not 1080p native so is that what causes the problem? Should I just stick to 720p or is there something that can be done?

This and NFSUC are the only games I've had any sort of problem with so far and NFS was fixed by switching to cinema mode.
