If your regulars get killed, you get new regulars. However, they'll start out low-skilled (since you win attribute points after each mission). For the unlockable characters, if they die during the campaign, they're dead for the duration.

For the tank mission, I couldn't get through it without taking casualities. My recommendation is to keep one group in the canyon, lying prone (so snipers are a good choice) to start picking off the advancing troops. Move your other squad (with a rocket launcher soldier) up to the bridge, taking out the enemy soldiers up top, then get prone on the bridge. When the tanks are in range, switch control to the rocket launcher soldier, sit up, equip the launcher, and take the tanks out in a hurry before you get shot. (note: you can't get prone with the launcher equipped). This rocket launching skill will come in handy later, trust me...

And save often, at least after you complete each objective and right before you expect a big firefight.

I'll try this too. I took the first group around the right side to the back to take out the 3 soilders by the top of the bridge, then I tried to ambush the tank& crew from behind with the second group pat where they are originally posted. Somehow I missed the tank, and a bunch of soilders somehow got to the top and surrounded me. Go figure. The second team could take the all of the fire power, adn I had to quit to regroup myself.

I plan on conquering this mission tonight as well, and I finally found a way to get xbl to work on my dsl connection so now it's on.

Yes. Someone here told me they had the same problem until they got a firmware upgrade, and it worked, but when I called Microsoft, and SBC, neither helped me out, and SBC should've told me 2wire could help, and put me through to them, but I think some of these tech people don't really know much.

I just have to think of a name, and upgrade from the website, and it's a done deal.

Tell me about it. I could get paid that good money for that. They read instructions off of their computers anyway.
It makes since to just direct you to someone that knows what they're doing.

KDRE...they have a walkthrough at GameFAQs. I usually read them then go back and play the game. It usually doesn't help since I have a hard time retaining useless information.

Believe it or not the 1st mission took me 1h 49m to beat. That's brutal on my part.

I move sooo slow and think too much about every move I make. Great game though.
