WrestleMania 2000 on N64. I cut HS to get the game and my parents caught me - got grounded and lost the game for two weeks, smart idea.

Wow Super Mario 2. I feel old. I remember I was in kindergarten when it came out. I didn't have a NES. I think we only had an a Atari 7600 at the time, but every morning one of our neighbors would kind of babysit me for an hour or so until the bus for school came. She had two kids and one was my age and they were into games a lot.

The mother worked for Toys R Us, so she got a copy of Super Mario 2 the day it came out and we were playing it the next morning. Being so young and not totally into games I didn't see the big deal behind it at the time and honestly I don't think I liked Super Mario 2 at the time.

Now it's probably my favorite Mario title next to Super Mario 64.

I remember a few years later when she brought home Super Mario 3 and we were blown away by the game. I remember the 5th stage in the 1st land I think it was where you could slide down that big hill right from the get go. We all thought that was the coolest thing ever...lol

I don't have a "date" per se, nor do I think I can pick just one game that has had me the most hyped.

Halo 2 really stands out as one. As does NFL 2K5 and many Madden games in the past.

And I remember barely being able to control myself waiting for the N64 and Mario 64, after playing the game at Toys R Us pre-release. That game was almost a relgious experience for me the first time I picked up the controller and moved Mario around in 3D.

Mine was the day the Nintendo 64 was released. I remember going the mall as a kid just to see Mario 64 and Wave Race 64 (or was it Pilotwings?) for the first time. I was blown away.

Guitar Hero II, the only game I ever went to a midnight release for.

Several others I bought the first day of release (Ocarina of Time, Donkey Kong Country, and others), but only GH2 got me to go out to the store the NIGHT of the release. And it will probably happen again when GH3 drops.

If anything, I'd say I was pretty excited for Xbox live. Other than that nothing really excited me that much.

September 29th, 1996 - The release of the Nintendo 64, and Mario 64.

My brothers and I looked forward to this day for so long. The Toys R Us had a huge Mario banner with the release date.

We finally got up ridiculously early on that morning. I skipped Church and we just played for a long, long time.

San Andreas. It was senior year in high school, and had my mother call me out sick. She actually let me stay home for it. It was great.

I had my brother run out and grab it for me that morning at EB, and I played all day that day, and all night.

I remember waiting outside the mall for about 2 hours or so with my brother and just talking with some fellow gamers anticipating the Dreamcast. They opened the doors at midnight and BOOM! The madness began. Guys were running towards the EB at the other end of the mall, but my brother and I were sprinting to be first in line. I remember looking back halfway during my 200m at all of the slow-pokes and WHAM! I leveled a huge cardboard cut-out promoting some movie. I regained my balance and composure in what felt like a split second and carried on with my jaunt (laughing hysterically).

We get to the front of the store thinking we would be first and find some teenage girl chilling in front of the store because she went through another door. I wanted to slap the look off her face. We still got the 2nd system in the store.

That was good times on 9-9-99.

We played NFL2K like crazy the next day since we both took the day off.

2nd place would be standing in line for the 360 in cold weather for hours throwing the football around in a Best Buy parking lot and getting the last system in the store. I got up early for that one. My wife still thinks I was nuts for doing that.
