All this talk about jump buttons is silly. It's a R* game so the real question is......Hookers? Are they around town?

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
It originally was developed for the PS3 alone so it's 25 gigs of story hence the 3 discs.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
LA Noire is not a completely revolutionary game. It takes some new elements, mainly the detective work, and incorporates them into what feels very much like a Rockstar game. It’s kind of like Grand Theft Auto, but without some of the liberties that you can take on the civilians.
L.A. Noire is a gritty, single player detective game set on the infamous streets and in the smoke-filled back rooms of post-war Los Angeles. Designed and developed with a nod to the classic film noire movie genre, L.A. Noire blends crystal clear graphics that bring the iconic look and feel of the era to life, with a combination of innovative technology and unique gameplay that allow you to solve crimes through interrogations and investigation.
Just for the hell of it, I googled "L.A. Noire controls" and this was the first thing to come up for me. If what he is saying is true, and it does play like GTA, then why is so crazy for me to say:

You don't need a jump button. It's not necessary at all. The game takes care of it for you.Comment

BECAUSE LA NOIRE HAS NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH GTA.http://attackofthefanboy.com/reviews/la-noire-review/

Do I need to repeat that?

It's like saying I can shoot fireballs from my hands in Oblivion so why can I not do the same in LA Noire.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
OK I misspoke a little bit. You said it was a waste of time. It's not an action game, why put all the time and effort into programming a jump command, the extra animation of the "anywhere" jump, all the map editing/testing, etc when it's completely unnecessary?Originally posted by slickdtcI'd ride his bus, that's all I'm saying.

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Jesus, you guys need to stop bitching about this and let people who actually have the game post their impressions. No one wants to read this nonsense of jump buttons, taking out shooting, multiplayer, etc.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Did you read the quote? It says the game plays like GTA so apparently it plays something like GTA. I still find it odd that there's no jump button like in...(wait for it)...GTA.
This is probably going to be my last post in this thread. I hope every one enjoys the game as much as I will.Originally posted by slickdtcI'd ride his bus, that's all I'm saying.

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
So much fun
Dont know where to start...
well first off you dont need a jump button and its quite alright
that said, once you get into trying to solve cases you find yourself immersed to the point where you want to keep going and going
my kids were watching me interrogate and question people, and they kept asking me to go further as I wanted to cut it off so they could go to bed
Kids were saying how interesting it was (10 and 15 year olds) so the more you gather info the more you want to.. and try to connect dots
The facial animations expressions, and techniques that run through your mind about it all is gold.. trying to read people, trying to use psychology, trying to be a detective, feels pretty rewarding when you get down to business.
Its a pretty good mix of cinematic and gaming with the way the titles hit the screen moving from case to case.
I know im not giving anything away and im not trying to since you guys will want to be spoiled by the game and not me.... Im just saying you'll have tons of fun with it
its definitely NOT GTA, and thats a good thing considering its a monster of its own. The city looks good although I didnt explore alot, i did see a hotel that is still around today near the staples center area... recognized a bunch of the downtown streets off the bat
Have fun when you pop it in though, and take your time and enjoy the sites, or just do the quick warp thing to the next destinationsComment
