You make it sound like a bad thing, I am content with waiting for a great game rather than them rushing a game full of bugs.

In game footage? What? Nice. Is there a cast list anywhere? The main character looks like Kenny Kosgrove from Mad Men.

He looks like him because that is him.

Nice, that facial animation tech is sweet.

Really nice trailer! But I didn't know David Puddy (Patrick Warburton) is in the game...

He looks like this other real life older actor. But I can not put my finger on it.

I just love how they capture the "Gregory Peck/Gary Cooper" look as well for the main character.

He kinda has the Jerry Orbach look going for him.

Yeah, maybe that mixed with a bit of James Cromwell.

But man, that specific character looks so familiar (watch be someone I know in real life lol)

He looks like Scott Bakula from, I believe, Quantum Leap. I know him as Chuck's Dad on Chuck.

                        IGN has a preview up:

This part, to me, sounds like this game might be more similar to Mafia II than GTA...
Not only are you a good guy out after the bad guys, the city itself is not your playground. Though L.A. Noire is an open-world game (explore L.A. if you like, see the sights, admire the pedestrians), there aren't mini-games to be played or side quests to complete or pigeons to shoot. L.A. Noire is a far more linear game, that puts an emphasis on the journey, moreso than the destination, and one where the narrative and the characters take a central role, with far fewer distractions.

Thanks for the update. Could be a good change though. Especially if the story is that deep.

See, I like that. I think what I don't like about sandbox games is getting lost in the world. That sounds weird to say because I love having an open world, but anything that pushes me toward the central story is good storytelling for me and helps me enjoy the story much more.

If Rockstar could do what Fallout does where every piece of information lends itself to something bigger then I think I'd enjoy their style of game.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Yeah as long as the linear portion of the game isn't too short it's all good imo.

                              In Rockstar I trust.

i hope the gameplay is like the trailer where you can enter all the buildings like that, and when you do it is filled with lving people doing different things each time.

I thought red dead was gonna have that, and it turned out to be a dud. I hunted animals in red dead for 2 days then returned it.

hopefully this has the detective solving element as well
