Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
That's me to a tee. I played it heaps the first week, once or twice the 2nd week and now I just can't get motivated to turn it back on. I'll get to it eventually but i hasn't held my attention like other games have. This game is kind of enigmatic for me. I haven't had a ton of time since i got the game, but when i started playing i couldn't stop. I wanted to solve every case and couldn't put it down. This week, I worked a ton, and didn't fire the game up once. And I'm finding it hard to get the motivation to dive back in.
Anyone experience the same?Last edited by Jonesy; 06-13-2011, 07:16 PM.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
It was a bit difficult for me to pick it back up after the homicide desk, but I did and finished it out. I wasn't extremely pleased with the ending, but I think it's worth finishing. I still recommend it to friends, if they ask if I've played it.Comment

Looks like the game is proving to be a rental, as good as it is.Comment

Wow, $37 trade in on amazon. Definitely going for that trade in. Finished the game yesterday. And while I liked it, I definitely thought the high point of the game was the homicide investigations. I was interested in finding out what happened, but the last 4 investigations weren't the high point of the game.
Just not really interested in trying to track down cars, badges, or film reels.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Depends. If you expected this to be as open world as GTA for some reason, then you'll be disappointed. If you knew this game had an open city, but was still like Mafia II, then you might like it more.
I love games like this. I love the era, the story, the gameplay, etc. It was all great and worth the wait. I'll probably play through the game at least one more time if not more. The game has a great atmosphere and was just plain fun to me. It is slower paced, but that doesn't bother me. I'm the type of guy who can play shooter games that take 10 minutes of going prone in a field before you get one kill.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
I wasnt commenting on open world or shooting civilians or what you should/ shouldn't have expected. The game doesnt have much longevity. Thus is a week or 2 rental. Ive said it a million times, the game was a 5 star game, but it isnt much after youve beaten it, and maybe replayed 3 missions.Comment

I agree. Not really feeling the need to replay it, then again, I normally don't replay games after I have beaten them.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
And again, it depends. I can play games over and over, so LA Noire has longevity to me. I've played through GTA IV around 5 times and I still play it a good amount online and off. If you're the type of player who beats a game, then never plays it again, then yea, maybe you should rent this. If you're the type of player who can play through a game multiple times and still have fun, then this game might be a buy for you.I wasnt commenting on open world or shooting civilians or what you should/ shouldn't have expected. I love this game and will play through it again and possibly again and again. That's how I am though. I can play through games multiple times and still have as much fun as the first time through. I've played through GTA SA 3-4 times, Saints Row a couple of times, Saints Row 2 like 10 times, GTA IV probably 5+ times, RDR twice, and I'll probably play through this game 2-3 times at the very least. So, yes, this game is worth a buy for me.
Pretty redundant post, eh?“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
I'm interested in seeing some of the different ways some of the cases can go depending on how you do (specifically, the interviews and clue finding).
SpoilerI know that the one hit and run traffic case had some very different outcomes depending whether you found all the clues (one BIG one in particular, at the crime scene - the knife). Since I played through the game without the hints, I COMPLETELY missed that in my initial investigation because it wasn't exactly near the rest of the evidence. It wasn't until the last part of the case that I was told to go back and search the crime scene again, at which point I found the knife - AND Sabo. Instead of getting both of them, I only got him.
If other cases have branches like that, there's definitely some value to me in replaying the cases, even beyond getting 5 stars on everything.Comment

Good to hear I've got company. Still haven't gotten the itch yet to get back into it, but I know I will. It's a bit tougher now that Infamous 2 is out though and I still haven't had a chance to start that!Comment
