I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
I really wish this game was more of a Rockstar open-world style game. I know this is supposed to be a story/mission-driven game, but to have the 1940's as an open world with such nice graphics/atmosphere - without taking full advantage of it? I would LOVE a real 1940's living-breathing open world for this gen.My Specs:

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
It has been a long time since I played this but I remember the biggest issue being was that there was this big open, colorful, vibrant city and not much to do in it. (Almost the same issue as Maffia II).
I would have loved to see a sequel that improved on the original but unfortunately the company that developed the game went under.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Honestly, I thought the open world was great. If you want to explore it you're more than welcome and enticed to do so. I understand outside of a couple item hunts and car collecting there weren't any "side missions" to do. Open world games have such a problem of littering it's map and world with pointless, utterly redundant side missions just to fill the world that it was rather refreshing that they didn't try to force the player to "explore" the map via those worthless activities.

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
There were also the police calls where you'd go to something like a bank robbery scene and clear it out. These popped up in Free Roam mode IIRC.
It definitely wasn't as alive as a GTA, but I thought the map was a very good representation of actual Los Angeles at that time. Arguably the most accurate depiction of a city compared to what it actually looked like in any open world game. I'm pretty sure they pored over photos of the actual streets to get the buildings right.Comment

I loved this game for awhile but for me it got to a point where I was like when is this going to end, just wanted to get through it.-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
This lacking open world had the greatest feature that all great open world games are missing - being able to sit. How many times have you played GTA or WD and wished you could sit on a bench or at a restaurant?
By the way, I love this guy's videos (can't embed) -

Anyone pick this up today? I bought a physical copy, which I rarely do these days. But I love this game, plus the cover art is just plain cool.
Anyone play through the game in black-and-white mode? I did my first time on Xbox 360, probably will again on PS4 (hopefully the option is still there, haven't got home to find out yet!).www.heyimbill.com | sports poster art and other cool stuffComment
