For those of you saying APF.....is it that you really expected more from the game? or is it just that you prefer Madden?
I only ask because I too was a little disappointed with the lack of customization in APF, but I knew that going in and it would be one of the few things that bothers me about the game, where in Madden, I just expected it to play better than every other version I bought(and swore I wouldn't do again).
Not trying to turn this into APF vs. Madden(although it seems to have done that, kind of in stealth mode )

Now that some others have posted that piece of crap that is Stranglehold....I will change my pick from Madden to that.
If I had to, I could play against someone else in a game of Madden and have some fun. There is not much fun in Stranglehold IMO.

I just got a 360 a little over a month ago and so far have only purchased skate. and NHL 2008. Tiger Woods 2008 was free with the Toys R Us thing, so I won't count that.

NHL would be my pick just because of some of the issues with dynasty mode. I don't regret buying it and I will keep on playing, but of the few or two games I bought at $60 it would be the most disappointing so far.

NCAA 08. The biggest disappointment for me was the pinball nature of the player interaction. It seemed like the second I made contact with a defender, I'd bounce backwards 5 yards. I had fun with the demo's 60 fps smoothness but didn't see the pinball effects.

The complete year of Football was a disappointment...

Madden NFL 08, good game this year, but radio announcer still in the game, and overall ESPN integration is still trash.

NCAA 08, still bug issues with fatigue and other things that keep it from being a great college game, crowd is whack, and over presentation needs a overhaul..

All-Pro Football 2k8, too many limitations to team edits and so on, not being able to control computer created teams, not enough players, etc.

Presentation is still the king of video game football, but its very repetative, and man the graphics are just behind the competition. And I expect much more out of 2ksports........

Now to adventure games

What a joke, too damn short, and not enough substance in the story...I mean Conan is better....

Lair, the massive 6 axis bug, and my Dragon flying all over the place is annoying and the disappointment of no hurry up on a patch is beyond a disappointment.....

Halo 3 - Pure trash, for this to be the final in the trilogy, the campaign should have been much more than what it was. The story seemed rushed and the levels was too simplistic and bland. Gears of War was much better, Hell!! Even Jericho is much better...I mean I'm so disappointed in the last two outings of this game. Part one still leads the pack, as best in series....

Multiplayer is cool, but its getting old already, I'd rather continue playing GRAW 1 and 2 and Rainbow 6 Vegas multiplayer, than Halo 3....boring *** modes.....

Games I did buy and was disappointed with:

Dead Rising
NBA2k8 - the best basketball game to date, but I still can't shake the feeling I'm playing an Xbox 1 game with some better animations. The game hasn't progressed in a lot of areas since last gen.

Why are so many people disappointed with Halo 3? What were you expecting? It is just like Halo 2 but better, imo. Why fix something thats not broke.

Madden 08 by a landslide. We now have true next gen sports games with baseball (The Show), basketball (NBA 2k8), and hockey (NHL 08 and 2k8), yet America's # 1 sport (football) remains woefully behind when it comes to next gen gaming experiences.

Halo 2 was probably my biggest gaming disappointment ever. I loved the first Halo and basically forced myself to finish the 2nd campaign. I hate the Halo online community, too, so don't play multiplayer online.

I agree(although both hockey titles could use some more work both on the ice and off).
I think the problem with Madden is they are afraid to move away from the whole "cookie cutter" process that is Madden. The game is so huge in sales and following(look at that pathetic show on ESPN) that I think EA is afraid to break away and do what is necessary to fix this game and make it the way it should be. Look at how they scrapped their baseball title and made huge strides with MVP(they had no choice, EA's baseball title was pretty bad for years)
But I'm afraid as long as suckers like myself keep buying year after year.....we are just not going to see an NFL game that can stand on it's gameplay.

I only bought three games but it was APF 2K8. I just expected so much more after some of the very positive impressions I had read. Felt like a stripped down port of 2K5.

NCAA 08. It was great for about a week or so, but then the interceptions and fumbles (or non-fumbles) just really started getting at me. I wanted to, and still do, advance through the Dynasty mode, but after playing just one quarter I am forced to just shut my XBox off. And the sliders are completely useless too.

Madden is growing on me some, even though it does suffer from a lot of the same problems.
