Re: 2007 Most Disappointing Next Gen Purchase
I honestly don't feel like I have blown $60 on any game this year, but I'm disappointed with NCAA 08 and Madden 08. Lost Planet too, but only because I saw a lot potential with that game to be so much better than it was.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: 2007 Most Disappointing Next Gen Purchase
Halo 3. Not sure why I wasted my money on it. I did get something like $40 on the trade in for it the week after - so I didn't waste too much on it, luckily.
After reading some posts - I'd add APF2k8 as well.Last edited by MC Fatigue; 10-29-2007, 02:07 PM.Comment

Re: 2007 Most Disappointing Next Gen Purchase
I would have added COD3, but that was last year. Standing alone it wasn't that bad, but it was not nearly as good as COD2. I ended up selling COD3 and repurchasing COD2 for some WW2 MP. Thank goodness Infinity Ward is back on the job for COD4.
I might have added APF too, except I'm in a couple of solid leagues so that will keep me playing for a while.Comment

Luckily, I have been happy with all of my purchases this year. It has been a pretty damn good gaming year. And this fall has been (and continues to be) insane.Comment

Re: 2007 Most Disappointing Next Gen Purchase
Haven't regreted any purchase yet. I read up on them before I buy them though. Too expensive not to.
Of non-purchases I was really looking forward to Spider-man 3 but found out it was not good so I never tried it. And Ultimate Spider-man was so awesome (but too short. I rented that one, Thanks internet!)
Lets hope Rock Band comes through.Comment

Re: 2007 Most Disappointing Next Gen Purchase
The ones that I felt was a complete waste of money was:
APF 2K8
NBA Live 2008
I actually questioned the cashier before I paid for APF and told him that I'd save the receipt. I honestly didn't even play the game 10 times. I felt that the gameplay was good. But overall, it was so limited. The thing that just flat out disappointed me was the "Sony, My First Shot At Making Videogames" Play Select screen. Man, that thing looked like straight Atari 2600 right there.
I have not sold it because I think some of the gameplay elements are good. I think one day probably next year, I'll just throw it in and have a good time with it.
I don't hate NBA Live 2008. It's just a bad game. Severley lacking. Some good elements but overall just a incomplete product. I felt that game is nowhere near worth $60.Comment

Madden 08 easily. I sold it within a week of buying it. I still play NCAA 08, but I am starting to get a little bored with it.Villanova Class of 2012

Re: 2007 Most Disappointing Next Gen Purchase
So many dissappointing games, but I'll keep it short:
Madden (360): Thought for sure this would be the year.
NBA2K8 (360): Wildly ambitious but there are too many bugs for me to enjoy the game. If it's not patched by the end of the year I'll have to sell it.
Oblivion (360): This game has the potential to be one of my favorite RPG's of all time, but it's ridiculous 'scaled leveling' system breaks this game for me. What's the point of leveling my character if the enemies level-up and get stronger too? Might as well beat the game at level-1 and call it a day.
Command & Conquer 3 (360): Favorite RTS series of all time made its way to my 360 but it's much too unbalanced to be considered a serious console RTS; it's basically spam your best unit until you run out of money (the PC version is soooooo much better).
Puzzle Quest (XBL Arcade): $15 arcade game and for the first week I thought I'd be playing this for the next 6 months. Unfortunately there's far too much luck involved during combat which leaves a bitter taste in your mouth when you lose and robs you of any satisfaction when you win.Last edited by DLaren; 10-29-2007, 09:05 PM.
