I would have to say Madden overwhelmingly. NCAA08 has flaws that are in Madden but it has a great dynasty mode to keep me playing. APF really lacked replayabilty but at least I can say I played that game religiously for 2 months and really enjoyed it. I tried to give Madden a shot and couldn't get into it at all. Terrible animations, presentation, and glitches just made for a bad experience.

Halo 3 for me, just because my expectations were so high. I feel I'm pretty unbiased having not really played the franchise before and owning most of the other shooters on 360. To me I don't get the hype, this is the vanguard of XBOX360 games? Gears definitely better, heck Call of Duty 2 arguably better. I really don't get the hype on Halo graphically its not that great, story wise, not that great, playability wise I'll give you it is pretty decent. Really didn't stun me though as I guess I expected it would and for $60 definitely my most disappointing title.
If someone were to ask me to show them what Next Gen Vid Games look like on my HD TV, I would definitely be pulling out one of the sports titles not Halo3, enough said.Those who cannot hear the music think the dancers mad - Chinese ProverbComment

I would say that's the problem. I knew a lot of people on here would be disappointed by it, because it wasn't like the formula was going to change. And there's always a backlash to something that is hyped and as big as Halo. Most still went out and purchased Halo 3 (even people that didn't care for the series much at all), which just goes to show you, it's hard to resist the hype this game generates.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Eh...and the same people bitch about Madden and every other sports game every year, when it's "just the same as last year". Kind of annoying when it takes Bungie like 4 years or whatever to give us Halo 2.5...I understand their motivation (they have a cash cow, and if they don't change anything they'll make a ton of money), but it's just amusing when people scream for innovation from games with 1/4 of the development time and yet go "OMG Halo 3 is the best"...Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

To be fair to the whiners on these forums, most of them that nitpick the sports franchises are similarly critical of Halo. Halo is one of the most mentioned games in this thread along with Madden and APF. So they are pretty consistent. Not that anyone in this thread is a whiner. I'm very picky with games I play so I try them out in various ways like demo's and going over to a friends house but this year I made some mistakes for myself.
MLB 2k7 : This is probably a great game but I had limited time to game so I barely got a couple games on this. I let someone borrow it so that it can get some use atleast. I'm not into baseball too big so maybe that's why I never gave it any extra time to play it. When I just went to school and no work, I played mlb2k to death but with limited time I rather play Guitar Hero or NBA2k.
Madden: I don't know why i buy it every year, maybe its hope that it is going to be good but it has been disapointing for the last few years for me. Next year I'll pass for sure. I'll probably be playing Halo/cod4/nba2k8 the whole time.Comment

Madden by far.
I'm surprised so many people put down APF 2K8. Is it because of the lack of franchise mode? For me, even though it lacked the depth of Madden or NCAA I felt it played the best game of football on the field out of the 3 games. Wii Play: Those mini-games weren't even worth the $10 difference in price from just buying another remote. I thought it would be some cool mini games like the sports title.Comment
