Re: Call of Duty 4 - Impressions

finally got it last night and played around for about 2 hours, incredible game..just wish i hadnt been up 24 hours prior to that cause i could barely keep my eyes open to really get into it

first off, i will really have to learn these maps....coming from graw2, these maps have way more little nooks and crannies and i found myself getting turned around way to many times..leveling up is addicting, id first told myself 30 mins then bed...but once id hit that next level i kept wanting to see the next level

can't wait to dive into this more today

Re: Call of Duty 4 - Impressions

Now that I have had much more playing time in, I will say that this is one of my favorite games all time. I play a little of the single player yesterday and it was great, but I just couldn't stay away from online, I mean it's so freakin great, I'm getting better each hour I play, from the maps to the graphics to the gameplay, just a truley great game, I give it a 10.1, LOL...I know it may sound sick, but when I;m not playing I'm always thiinking about playing, I take my step kids to school in the morning, and I have to be at work at 9am, I drop them off at 8:15, and I came home just to play until 8:45, crazy, I never did this for any game...I'm getting sraced to, because when I'm not playing It's still seems like I hear those damn grenades going "Dink...Dink off a wall" sick just sick...I love this game...Mass Effect/AC/Choops, I'm worried If I but those games that they wont get any play, because this game is just pure candy period.

There about 19 levels. The time that it takes you depends on how good you are. It took me a while. Probably a total of about 8-10 hours over the course of the last three days. But well worth the time. This game is incredibly intense.

That's it! I can't take it anymore. I must pick up this game on my way home today. You guys are killing me! I'm typically a sports-game only gamer (with an occasional exception), but this sounds like a must buy.

Thanks for all of the impressions guys.

I'll probably be on Live later tonight.

Re: Call of Duty 4 - Impressions

I've been playing mostly the SP game for now (I participated in the Beta so I know MP is awesome and there will be plenty of time for it), but the SP is absolutely blowing me away by how intense it is. I have never played a game that has had me on the edge of my seat like this one. If you thought previous CoD games were frantic and chaotic, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Most surprising of all is just how many "holy $h*t!!" moments you come across. Moments that genuinely make my jaw drop, either in shock or awe, or just surprise by what I have just seen or has occurred. The story is by far more involving than any previous CoD game.

I am actually upset that I followed this game so closely prior to its release, because in all the previously released videos and trailers you see a lot of things that could have really caught me by surprised if I was coming in completely fresh. Oh well.

I don't know how much more I have left in the SP game, but I sort of don't want it to end. Even if it does end soon, I see myself starting it all over again on Veteran (I'm playing on Hardened). Although, there have been some sections that have giving me so much trouble on Hardened I cannot even fathom how frustrating they must be on Veteran.

haha I know what you mean. Monday and Tuesday night I stayed up until about 2 am and I have to get up around 6:30, 6:45, I was dead at work. Last my girlfriend came over, so i didn't get to really play, I did get a lot of sleep though.

So I'll be fresh to play into the late night hours tonight!

What's intense is when you are near someone that gets their head blown off. It is the most realistic headhsot you will see. It's amazing.

Does anyone know where you can do the 3 story drop? I can't find it.

Right now I am lvl 18 and got martydom. That is a great perk, probably my favorite one. I really want double tap and sleight of hand. It's going to be interesting to figure out which to choose. I guess martyrdom may get old when you play against better players who know to stay back after a kill.

I beat the single player on Hardened. **** the end of the flashback mission. Too hard with unlimited enemies, I ran out of sniper rounds and had to finish with my pistol.

The mission after the credits is way to fun.

I guess I have yet to see a head shot, the head really gets blown off? I probably just have not paid enough attention.

What is double tap and slieght of hand? You got a list of all the unclockable perks etc?

Somebody posted a link a few pages backin this thread I think. Sleight of hand reloads you real fast. double tap fires twice the rate of bullets.

As for the headshot, your teammate will be standing there, and you hear a pop and blood explodes and he hits the deck fast. It's pretty cool, and blood stains the walls if they are near some.
It happened last night in MP, and it was just awesome to be next to it.
