Yes, the game of the year discussion is already beginning! Spike is hosting its 5th annual Video Game Awards this December in Las Vegas, and this morning the nominees were released on Spike.com. What's in contention for Game of the Year? Orange Box, Halo 3, BioShock, and Mass Effect. Don't agree with the nominees? Madden will win just because it's a MTV thing so expect the games with the most commercials to win. The Scream awards and Grindhouse wins a couple that should tell you right there how these things work.

And they can't even get the games right; Lord of the Rings: Shadows of Angmar is NOT based on a movie or tv show. It's based on the books.

And you know this because you've played the game.

I don't see what's the problem with waiting until others have the game and give their take. I didn't with Heavenly Sword, a similar game yet I should have.
