So far I'd say Assassins Creed, I've almost beat it and so far its the best game I've played all year. I picked up Mass Effect yesterday and plan to start it up once I beat AC, if I had to guess I'd say my pick will definitely be one of these two.

Bioshock has had my vote all along. I am now playing Mass Effect (about 12 hours in, mostly doing side quests), and it is right up there. It's a little glitchy in places; I have gotten stuck against things a few times, which required exiting out and playing parts over again, which is very frustrating. But it's been a heckuva ride so far and it is truly epic.
Bioshock proved to me that games can be art. Mass Effect (and Drake's Fortune) has proved to me that the storytelling in games can match that of movies. Great year for games, especially the last couple of months.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines

If I'm picking one game, then after a few days of play, Super Mario Galaxy is the game of the year, and possibly the best game I've ever played. Simply amazing.Comment

Re: Game of The Year Discussion
Mass Effect is my other choice, but people looking for a easy game without much thought will be disappointed. It takes games to a movie form, but that isn't for some people. Some people just want to plug and play and not care about plot.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Game of The Year Discussion
As of right now my GOTY is a race between Bioshock and CoD4.
I have Mass Effect still shrink wrapped and won't open it until I am done with Assassin's Creed and Drake's Fortune since I want to give it all my attention, so that might be a contender as well.
Thoroughly enjoying Rock Band at the moment also and it would be a contender if only Band World Tour Mode was available online.
Don't own a Wii, so my GOTY is mostly coming from a 360 perspective.Comment

Drakes Fortune, no doubt.
Super Mario Galaxy is a very close second though... very close.Comment

If there is a game better than Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, I would like to see it.Follow me on Twitter - http://twitter.com/complex219Comment
