Can't wait for impressions tomorrow. Need something about this game to entice me to follow through with me preorder. Hahaha.

I found a "special" way to rank up to elite, lol. I have to admit I'm pretty terrible at FPS. I usually don't play these types of games but I make an exception for the Vegas series.

I finally got some MP action in tonight and it was amazing. I played 2 of the new maps (one was called Villa and I forgot what the other one was called) and they were both small. The action was fast and furious.

You need 400,000 XP to rank up to elite.

The framerate really suffers in story mode when there's a lot of action on the screen. It seems like there's more slowdown in this version than Vegas.

Would your "special" way to rank up to Elite involve a rubber band, a controller and a server set to run at all times ??

I got my Elite status the old fashioned way......not having a life

              IGN Review

              8.4

As I said previously, the biggest problem that most will have with Vegas 2 is that it doesn’t differentiate itself enough from the first. It doesn’t feel like an expansion pack exactly–-it’s more than that--but it doesn’t feel like a full-fledged sequel either. For those who haven’t taken a stroll down the streets of Sin City than you needn’t look any further than Rainbow Six Vegas 2, but those looking for a sequel that surpasses the original in everyway imaginable will be disappointed.
A lot of slowdown, some of it is understandable, other times it’s not. It doesn't run as well as the first Vegas.
Also those debating between the PS3 and Xbox version:
There also seem to be more instances of the framerate slowing down, sometimes to a crawl. A symptom that is exacerbated on the PS3 where textures and effects are already not up to the 360's standard.

PS3 owners get even more slowdown than on 360 and some lackluster texture work to boot.

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2 discussion

I don't understand how developers can have a slowdown? I understand in certain moments it may be hard to prevent due to an overwhelming amount of things going on...but to the point where it's getting the attention it's getting seems ridiculous.

One of the reasons I always enjoyed console games over PC. Nothing was worse than getting a sweet new game for your PC only to have it run crappy because your computer is old.

Hopefully it will run smooth most of the time.

After reading IGN's review about the co-op, I was alarmed by this comment,

"The changes made to the co-op gameplay were poorly implemented. Campaign co-op was shrunk from four players down to two. But you are still joined by two AI teammates. Only the host player is able to issue commands."

Please tell me you can play 2 player co-op without the AI!!

Are you playing this one on the 360? Reading both reviews, this doesn't sound too good.....I guess Extreme was right about possibly waiting a few days on this one.

Hmmm... I don't care about solo play so that doesn't really concern me. If MP is as good as the last one with the new stuff I should be happy with my purchase.

EDIT: I have to say, that review kind of hurt my excitement I had... I hope it's worth the money.

LMAO, the human turtle!!! No not that dam body armor again!

This game is gonna own just like the last one. That IGN review is the worst one I've heard so far. For the 360, should be fine.

I thought bullet penetration would be talked about more since it's in this version, but I haven't read much about it.

I wanted for all 3 modes, SP, Co-op, and MP........but reading both reviews has me a bit second guessing if this is worth it and the slowdown issue is bothersome that they would have this issue.
