Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
Don't know if you are still having trouble, but after 15 times of dying within seconds I decided to play with the games awful AI and do this.
SpoilerBrought down a hacked turret down the elevator. You will immediately drop it once the cutscene loads. Once the fight starts run directly behind you and go into cover on the divider between the two walls. He should just jump over the wall then and you can stun him with an EMP or a few shots to keep him in front of the turret.
He eventually threw a few frags and a gas grenade at me so I had to leave. He was still getting shot at by the turret though, so I just ran to the other side of the glass wall and stood there keeping him getting shot by the turret. (AI doesn't know what to do if you are behind glass in this game) He eventually dies after getting hit by it for 10 seconds.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
There are few things better than hacking a security hub, turning the robots against the mercenaries, intentionally setting off an alarm so that the robots come out, and having the enemies massacred while not firing a single shot.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Spoilerget the new chip before fighting him and have their augmentations disabled?
I beat him in about 10 seconds, on my second try by throwing grenades and shooting him 5 or 6 times with the revolver, on Give Me Deus Ex difficulty. I literally didn't even have to move.
Of course I didn'tSpoilerget the new chip since I thought it was fairly obvious something was up, considering you already knew at that point that the supplier of the chips was in on the conspiracy. Also the opening cutscene and e-mails in the game hinted at the use of a recall to further the conspiracy.
That probably made the boss fight a lot easier. I didn't like the boss fight itself, but I thought that part was interesting.Last edited by mgoblue678; 09-06-2011, 09:50 PM.My Teams

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
Just finished the game. Aside from the boss fights I have to say I loved every part of it. I did end up with about 6 unspent Piraxis points at the end though because there was really nothing else I wanted. I bought the Typhoon a little after the 2nd boss because I figured I would eventually use it, but I didn't use it once all game.
Final mission and ending spoilers.
SpoilerMan it's a good thing I saved up all those gas grenades. I could have just used my shotgun but I felt bad shooting innocent workers. They were usually all huddled up so one grenade would put most to sleep.
I did sit there at the end though figuring which choice to take. I wasn't really a fan of any of them. The idea of letting Taggart and his group control regulation just seems like a bad idea since I could easily see them pulling some shady ****. Taking Darrow's confession would have gotten rid of all augmentations, but that just seems like backwards thinking to get rid of technology. Plus I have ******* arm swords. Augmentations are good for that. Also didn't feel it was right to take no responsibility for it and blow up the island.
So I reluctantly chose Sarif's idea. As much as I didn't want to completely lie and cover it up, Taggart is a douche and probably deserved what was coming.
I did end up going through all the endings though since it saves right beforehand.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
Did you watch the post credits scene as well? That scene tied in with the first Deus Ex. I agree about the endings, I wasn't overly enthusiastic about any of them. That was clearly the intent of the devs though, they didn't want any of endings to be the clear cut right choice. They all had downsides, even though I am not sure if it really matters which one you choose since the events of Deux Ex 1 will happen anyways, depending on which ending/endings are chosen as canon.SpoilerYeah, I agree with that. I figured there wouldn't be a perfect choice. There has to be a downside to each one.
I did like the tie in to the original though.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
Agreed. The first time I did that even just with a simple turret I thought, "that might be the coolest thing I've ever done in a video game." I wish the character would have fixed himself a sandwich while the massacre occured.Comment

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
^^I think it sets of an alarm if a guard is able to hit one of the alarm panels(provided you didn't hack it) or if a camera sees the bot/turret mowing people down. At least that is what I noticed in my first play-through.
Debating whether or not I want to play-through another time without killing anyone, to get the Pacifist achievement. Seems like it would be boring to go through the whole game like that, even though I did use quite a bit of nonlethal stealth in my first play-through.
Not to mention a couple parts of the game seem like they would be a pain in the butt to try and pull off non-lethally.Last edited by mgoblue678; 09-07-2011, 06:12 PM.My Teams

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
When you hack a turret or bot in the game, the turret or bot will be essentially considered to be you. Any kills it makes are your kills, if anyone sees it it's as if they see you, if it gets in front of a camera it will go off as if it were you were in it's sight.Comment

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
Okay, just finished the game.
Someone, please jog my memory...
SpoilerWas this Bob Page guy in Deus Ex? Their progress with nanites definitely ties it up with the original but I don't remember if Bob was there. I know Manderly was a big figure in the first one.
Also, was that Adam we saw for a split second?
And does anyone else think JC the handyman from Panchea will eventually become JC Denton? That would be a funny origin.Comment
