Got Best Buy to price match the TRU deal (I had a RZ coupon and the TRU's near me are out of my way). Couldn't resist at 35 bucks, I'll probably make that back easily with trade in value at Gamestop when I'm done.

Looking forward to it, seems exactly like my kind of game! Just didn't get it at release because I'm busier and don't game quite as much now, therefore I avoid the "buy everything at release" bug I had in the past.

Just finished it as well. Chose the destruction ending. Felt appropriate. One thing I didn't like is I felt like the villains were very one dimensional. Besides money, what was the mercenaries' motivation? They were empty characters. Also, what was up with the person you meet after the third boss fight? They were acting really strangely. And after the after-credits scene, I'm not sure that part of the story makes much sense. Was that person an orchestrator in the plot?

Bob Page, he was part of the conspiracy(Illuminati) in this game and was the character talking to the other conspirators in the beginning of the game. He was the primary antagonistic in the first game, and breaks off from the Illuminati to form the Majestic 12 by the time the first game takes place. He was referencing the Gray Death virus in the after credits scene, which will be used by the Majestic 12 when nanoaugmentation technology is introduced. Adam's DNA seems to be the key to perfecting nanotechnology and therefore serves as a basis for the virus.

Been savoring this game like fine wine, only playing a few hours a week, so I'm finally done. It is of course one of the best games I've ever played, but as was mentioned a couple of posts up, the villains hold it back from Rushmore status for me. Story-wise I'd give it a 8.5, but a 9.7 for gameplay though.

Just found out that killing people in the prologue before you are augmented ruins the chance of getting the pacifist achievement. That bums me out a little bit because I went through the whole rest of the game without killing anyone but the bosses.

I was actually referring to Megan Reed. Was she simply consumed by her work, and continued to work on it despite everything that took place during DXHR? There wasn't much characterization for the conspirators. She goes from being a well-rounded scientist to suddenly being dressed up like a french barbie and apparently being revered and into the work she was doing for the mercenaries. I don't get it. Same thing with Sarif. What, if any, role did he play in the whole conspiracy? People kept alluding to him being involved, but I never got the sense he was an orchestrator. IDK, that story just lost me. I get Jensen's part of it, but the conspiracy just felt like a mess.

Guys i am looking for a bit of advice and hoped someone could help me.

I am thinking of buying this but i just cant decide, i have no doubts its a great game but dont know if its the right game for me. I have tried to read up on the story and i like the sound of it but i am not a big RPG player and dont know if i would enjoy this. I have Mass Effect 1 and 2 but haven't gotten round to playing them yet because i like mostly shooters.

I love a great story offline and games like the Gears series, Halo's and Dead Space's are very enjoyable to me whereas i play games like Assasins Creed and Bordrlands and couldn't get into them. I just cant decide so i was hoping someone would point me in the right direction of what game Deus is similar too.

I have read its not a free roam game which is good because the only free roam game i have liked is Arkham Asylum. I dont now what else to say, Oh the whole Illuminati thing intrigues me

Dont think i have ever played it to be honest, it doesnt matter anyway i went out and got it. After reading more about the game i really was going to try go all out stealth but i think that it may bore me to much so i am going to try mix things up and see how that goes.

I managed to get the ghost achievement in the first level but there was a few times i just wanted to take a guy down. I have started on the hardest level and so far i think its good.

I've had the game since release date and just now started playing. I'm not very far along , but I'm impressed so far. The story is interesting and is believable with a sci-fi twist. I wouldn't be turned off be the RPG elements really. The way you interact with people is the only real RPGish thing.

If I had to give an example of a game it resembles I'd say Mass Effect meets Metal Gear Solid.

I think the game can be had for under $40 brand new. With an immersive story and solid gameplay that takes 15-20 hours to finish you can't go wrong.

Also if you enjoyed Dead Space you should like this.(similar upgrade system)
