I am pumped for this game! Any word on how many hours it will generally take to complete it? Does anyone know how long the original Deus Ex was by any chance?

IIRC they said 25 hours for the main quest.

The main Deus Ex: Human Revolution quest lasts a lengthy 25 hours, Eidos Montreal has revealed.

But that's providing you stick to the straight and narrow, explained Deus Ex: Human Revolution art director Jonathan Jacques-Belletete to Will Porter for Eurogamer.

"Someone like me would probably spend 35 hours playing the game, because I'm really someone who likes to snoop around looking at all the possibilities an environment has for me – then choose which one I'm actually going to tackle," he said.

"In the playtests we've been doing at work we usually have people playing the game Monday morning to Friday night - they play from nine to five - and some of them don't even finish it. The ones who do play it in 25 hours or so – that's because they know that they're limited."

"They do a few side-quests and they snoop around a little bit, but they mostly want to finish it. So that gives us a good gauge that the main quest is about 25 hours long... so that's a hard number as we've seen it live. From that we can extrapolate that it can easily go up to 35 hours."
I can't remember how long it took, but the first Deus Ex is the one of the rare few games that I've ever gone back and played parts over again to get the alternate results or endings.

Besides alternate endings, you can replay the game choosing to support different factions, and of course as has been shown and mentioned, using different play styles.

            Re: Deus EX 3 Announced

Less than a week before I play my first Deus Ex game.

            *scratches neck like a fiend*....

I remember seeing this game at E3 and coming away thinking "this is one of the most impressive games here." And mind you, I hadn't even heard of this series before prior to E3. Looking at the clips, trailers, and gameplay footage in this thread, it's nice to see Eidos maintain and even build the momentum up for this game's release. I think the 'hype' will be well worth it.

Hmm I may look at this. The vids and reviews look good and I'm a sucker for rpgs that are real time like this. Example being borderlands.

Never even heard of this game until I glanced at this thread. But now I think I am sold and will be getting this on day 1.

F1 2011,NHL 12, NBA 2K12, PES 2012, BF3, Skyrim (maybe Fifa 12) and now Deus EX..... I am going to have to buy the misses something really expensive sometime soon.

I've been looking forward to this one for awhile. Glad it's getting good reviews.

Never played Deus Ex before, but this caught my eye immediately.

This will be the first game i'm getting for my upgraded computer rig. Hopefully the UK PC Gamer was right 94% sounds like an unbelievable experience.

I wish i could read the review. I might get the augmented edition for the extra content.

Arthur Gies of IGN just tweeted that this took him about 42 hours to finish. Review is embargoed until Monday morning, though.
