Based on the videos I've seen on youtube the game doesn't resemble Fallout at all. But the guy posted that and some people agreed. Had me second guessing my purchase because I don't care for the Fall Out games at all.

Yeah, LOL! I think what might be throwing people off is how the NPC's look and they come close to the animations of Fallout, so I think that might be the thing there.

I was reading that the cover system is pretty much like Splinter Cell Conviction's which is cool. I never played the first two Deus EX games, but this game has me very intrigued. Only thing kind of stopping me is Madden and Resistance 3 within the next 2 weeks.

I stayed up and waited for this to unlock at midnight on Steam. Played till about 3 AM. I had to force myself to turn off the game so I could get some sleep. I am already looking forward to playing this game a few times. So many different ways to play. I really enjoy some of the early references to the original.

I'm going in guns ready for lethal measures. Next play through will be stealth. The game is challenging in a good way. It doesn't take much to die early in the game. I probably need to upgrade my Dermal Armor.

The little stealth I've done feels a lot like MGS when you take cover because the view automatically switches to a third person view. Fans of Deus Ex will not be disappointed.

Only played through the first mission after the initial tutorial mission, and I already love this game. Played stealthy using nonlethal take-downs and the tranquilizer rifle and the gameplay seems to be top notch. The graphics on a technical level aren't the greatest, but the art style being so good makes up for it. Also the hardest difficult level, Give me Dex Ex, is no joke. It only takes a couple of bullets to bring you down. You need to execute and play smart, because the game will make you pay for it if you don't. Hacking seems like a fun little minigame as well.

A little annoyed that at the end of the mission
            Spoiler

I only got 1 Praxis point for the mission, wonder if I would have got more if the end of the mission had gone better.

This might be a stupid question, but are there any parallels to Knights of the Old Republic in this game?

Some of the stuff I have read makes it sound like there may be.

And just so you know, I have not played the original games.

I know, I'm actually surprised by this. I thought everyone played the original. I can't seem to take into account that a lot of adult-aged people now were just small children back when the first came out.

Likely not. Most of the stuff I've seen so far is more reminiscent of the first game -- which came out a few years before KotOR. The first Deus Ex was hugely influential in the gaming industry, and a lot of concepts in the modern action RPG come from it (along with the System Shock series and a few others titles).

                    Exactly.
I played this on PC last night for an hour. Graphics looked amazing and ran really smooth on my rig.
The game is fantastic soo far. I'd have to describe it as a Half-Life 2(story presentation) meets Mass Effect 2/Splinter Cell(gameplay) in a super cool future where people augment with cybernetics. The story looks like its going to get crazy. The gameplay is great, the hacking system is the best in any game IMO and controls with the Keyboard and mouse feel perfect.

I got two Praxis points. One that they basically point out in the tutorial about augmentation.

My only complaint right now from playing on the PC is that zoom/iron sights is mapped to the mouse wheel while right click is reserved for cover.

You can change all the controls around in the options menu. I thought about changing it but decided on keeping it on the mouse wheel click.
