After some digging, Heel is right. With a silencer on, you don't show up when you shoot, but with a recon plane they can still find you. With a camo, you show up when you shoot, but not when a recon plane is called (unless of course you are shooting)With camo and a silencer you won't show up at all.

What do you mean? Doesn;t the recon show you on the map no matter what though? So cameo doesn't show you on the map at all?

What's the advantage and disadvantages of using a silencer? Distance, accuracy etc...?

The recon shows you on the map if you do not have camo. But it just shows where you are when it scans the map. So if you are in the NE and a recon hits, then it will show your dot there. If you run to the other side and are silenced, it will not track your movements.

In other words you are only on the map when the recon hits IF you are silenced. If you have camo and are silenced, you will never show up on the map.

The advantage of being silenced is that you do not show up on the map unless they have have recon. The disadvantage is you lose range. Honestly, I play a certain way, so being silenced is how I almost always play.

Say you face off with a guy who sees you. There is no recon and you have obstacles in between you both. Once he sees me, I may fake one way and maybe go to the other side of an obstacle..I will see his red dot and he will have to guess where I am at. Many times they go in a corner and camp, but since I see their dot, I just turn that corner and open fire before they know I am even there.


Another scenario : A guy is shooting at me from behind..I immediately run off, but do a 360 around an obstacle. The guy chasing me is not sure where I am, but 9/10 will run in the direction I went assuming I am hauling ***. Using a 360 flank, I now have turned the tables and am behind him for a headshot, taking away his prior advantage.

If you are into that style of play, try using a suppressor.

Oh ok, thanks. I wasn't too sure about that one, i'd use the silencer but it sucks *** imo, the aperture sight is too nice to not use it anyways.

aperture makes it 10x easier for aiming for sure. I use the silencer though so no ones knows where I am. 90% of the time I don't even pull the gun up to aim, I just use the cross hairs on the screen and do pretty well. Most of my kills are close range anyways.


I don't like tanks in the game either. I normally back out on those maps with tanks. I like killing snipers the best, can't stand them for some reason. I can normally sneak right behind them since they are looking down the scope and knife them, or stand there a sec and pull my pistol and shoot them in the back of the head.

I can't decide which gun is best...I'm at level 30 and switch around between the Type 100 silenced and MP40 with Arpeture sight.

Do you have the MP40 with Dual Magazines, that is my favorite setup. I hipfire all day with that and never have to scope in.

never mind, I remember it now. Sort of looks like an AK47. I used it a little but couldn't do good with it. Seems like it took a lot to bring a guy down. Will have to try it again.

Yeah I felt like the STG took a while to get people down when I picked it up. I can't find a gun with the perfect mix of accuracy and damage, with a decent amount of range.
