Take-Two acquisition by EA imminent?

As everyone expected, the merger between Vivendi Games and Activision that led to the birth of Activision-Blizzard, the new no.1 video game publisher in the world, didn’t sit too well with, now second biggest publisher, EA Games. So they’re thinking of solutions to get back in the top spot, and acquiring Take-Two Interactive seems to be their best bet.

Take-2 is in a pretty good position right now actually making a profit in the final quarter. Specifically due to BIOSHOCK which has sold over 2 million copies worldwide. Not to mention NBA 2K8 selling pretty nicely.

As always it's all rumor, but my hunch would be that UBISOFT would buy Take-2 by all means before they would let EA buy them

I don't know why EA would keep buying companies, they're losing money already and wasting money buying things left and right doesn't seem very smart to me.

It's happening more frequently it seems. I think the distance between the last two was 6 months. This one is closer to 3. I hope that the shorter distance doesn't mean anything. By the way, isn't "You Be Soft" already acquired partially by "Pinky & Da Brain" if I recall correctly? I'm just getting into Bioshock. I'd hate for the creativity that this game has to be stiffled by such an evil empire.

Im not a *****, but EA's really does cooki cut games for people. the EA from my child hood is long gone.

I don't hate EA at all, but lack of competition is a bad thing for consumers.
