    Re: Banjo-Threeie (360)

    It's definitely not for everybody.

The demo is huge. I don't think there's been a demo on the 360 with this much content. Nuts and Bolts is arguably the nicest looking game on the 360. The dynamic lighting, draw distance, and sheer amount of detail packed into these massive worlds is quite impressive. The vehicle creation is very intuitive. Rare nailed this aspect perfectly. I could spend lots of time in the garage and test-o-track just building contraptions and testing them out. I built a crazy plane/boat/car that shoots eggs. I liked the challenges in Banjo Land. There's some potential for them to get repetitive, but as long as most are players choice instead of LOG's choice, I think it will be fine. I love the music and just how unique and charming the game is. Nuts and Bolts still very much has that Banjo charm and humor. It really feels like something from the old Nintendo-era Rare. Also, Rare's not afraid to poke fun at themselves with the giant trash can full of Grabbed by the Ghoulies in Banjo Land.

There's nothing like this on the 360 and I'm very much looking forward to the release.

Any chance a mod could change the title of the thread? LOL I keep skipping past it because well, it's not the game's title now

The soccer challenge in Banjo Land is what really opened my eyes to the vehicle creation. Humba's default vehicles aren't very effective and that's probably by design. The one vehicle that would work for the challenge doesn't hold onto the balls and they get away easily, especially when you have Grunty's bots running into you. I ended up building a vehicle that could hold the balls better then added a spring on the front to shoot them. I love it. Seriously, you could easily spend several hours playing this demo.

Demo was pretty fun. I put in a fair amount of time. Some challenges are really tedious and others are really fun and creative. I'm glad I played the demo, but I don't think I'll be buying this one, as much I as I do want to support Rare. The retail price ($39.99) is really good, but I've got so much to play, I can't justify picking this one up right now.

You know... I can agree with you that this may be the nicest looking game on the 360... the first thing I commented on was how amazing the graphics are... it's BREATHTAKING...

I just don't know if I could get with the car creation... but then again I said the same thing about that lil F.U.D.D. thing in Mario Sunshine and ended up liking it after some time

I guess I have to spend more time in the garage and see what I could do... but i was disgusted at the driving controls when I tried to play soccer with my regular car lol

Banjo's running animation is funny. He's obviously fat and out of shape since his last adventure 10 years ago. I've read there's a gym in Showdown Town where you can whip him into shape and upgrade his moves. Banjo Land is so amazing. Brings back some fond memories. I flew around in a plane for minutes gawking at the scenery. There's also stuff underwater to explore. I wish the lock-on and targeting parts were in the demo, because they would've been a big help for the challenge where you defend Clanker's eyes. You got my cash monies Rare.

God that mission was frustrating! One of the few that I didn't enjoy in my playthrough.

Spent some time with the demo last night and I will be picking this game up. Not at release but def used sometime in the new year. With NBA2k9 , NHL09 , FIFA09 , Dead Space , Far Cry 2 , and Saints Row 2 sitting there plus GAW2 coming out I just don't have the time.

I already pre-ordered for the free original Banjo game on XBLA. I never played this series and a quick look at the demo yesterday made me very happy. Graphics are great. I liked the humor. The vehicle creator works nicely.

damn i was in this thread insulting this game months ago. ... but this demo has made a believer out of me!

Im really pumped for this game. Its #2 on my list behind Gears of War 2.

I absolutely LOVE the vehicle editor and feel that i'll actually have a reason to collect everything. Add multiplayer to that equation and were talking enormous replay value. damn i can't wait. Graphics are simply mindblowing.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts is a game that never stopped being fun for me. It's an odd duck that doesn't fit into any conventional game genres and probably isn't right for everybody. Despite its friendly appearance, Nuts & Bolts isn't exactly easy to pick up and play and might be over the head of some small children. There's a lot of depth here and the vehicle creation tools allow you to flex your mind and your fingers at the same time. This is a great change of pace from the usual Xbox 360 fare and a game that will offer a lot of fun to those willing to invest some time in it.

                              TeamXBOX Review - 7.4

Nuts and Bolts isn’t a bad title, but to my thinking it’s a game that will most appeal to a niche audience. Sure, there’s large quantity of gameplay as you seek out the more than 130 Jiggies there are to collect and try to fully unlock the entire world; and a log of that gameplay is a fun romp in a wild universe. The main issue is that there are a ton of games out this holiday season that are fun from start to finish, while Nuts and Bolts will probably take most of you up to a point before you lose interest in the Lego-like construction projects and the pursuit to beat all of the challenges. I predict that many Xbox 360 owners will put Nuts and Bolts on their list of games they’d like to try out, rather than considering it a “must-have title.”
