New DLC today, a free ice cream truck with a battering ram and it even plays the ice cream truck song. LOL

After not getting into this game after the first few days, it finally clicked and now I'm loving it.

Wow, you were ready to sell this off!

I think once this drops in price a little I'll definitely check it out. Too many good impressions in here to pass it up completely.

This is the one thing that immediately jumped out at me after picking this up yesterday and playing for an hour or two. I would kill for a Crackdown style aim assist, the shooting controls are just unwieldy, I don't feel like I'm shooting at anyone, just in their general direction.

Personally I like the shooting...aiming with no assists.

I noticed, at least on my difficulty level, that you don't always have to have the cursor over the Target to hit the target. They give you some room for error.

I don't even really have to aim, just spray in the general direction and people fall over.

                Re: Just Cause 2

I picked up this game last week and so far I love it. It's great mindless entertainment. Just running around causing chaos and having all the freedom in the world is pretty damn fun. I like that it's an arcade game, it's a throw back to the games I loved 15-20 years ago. The Modern Warfare type of games just aren't for me, this is perfect though.

I'm a little lost on some areas of the game though, which seems like a common issue based on this thread.

                1) How do I unlock more main missions? I've beaten three I believe and dominated a bunch of stronghold things, but now what? I don't know what I'm supposed to do next. I explore and go to different parts of the island randomly blowing stuff and and tearing down statues but it seems aimless.

I notice there's a "mission" bar which seems to fill up with more chaos. Is that the key? I just keep creating chaos until another mission is unlocked?

                2) What's up with finding ammo? In missions there's plenty but when you're just out and about causing chaos then ammo is very easy to run out of. I eventually die because I'm out of ammo and I can only do so much damage with the melee and grapple when it's 20 on 1.

I also hate that when I die I go back to the last check point but WITHOUT the ammo I had at that last check point. So if I run out of ammo and die, I start my next life with no ammo and none in sight to reload. As far as I can tell I can't use the Black Market to get more ammo, just new weapons.

Love the make up of the game though. So much freedom and the hilarious voice acting and terrible subtitles make the game even more entertaining. I don't get the plot at all but don't really care. As far as I can tell there's a bunch of gangs and corrupt government people on some tropical Island and I go around doing dirty work for anyone and everyone.

I'm tired of MW2, so I decided to download the demo for this. Seems like a pretty fun sandbox type game. I'm thinking about trading in MW2 and picking this up. Glad to see someone revived this thread so I can take a look at others' impressions.

One more question, how the heck do you detonate the trigger explosives? Stick them to all kinds of fun things and they only way I can get it to blow up is to shoot the explosive.

I just picked this up and am really liking it so far. Now that it has been out for a while, for those that have finished it, did Normal get too frustrating? I am only an hour or so in, so I am wondering if I should re-start with casual to really enjoy the game.

The main missions are sort of important, but I want to **** around on the island without dying all of the time.

What do you find frustrating about Normal?

I finally beat the storyline portion of the game, so I'm now in Mercenary Mode but only 28% done with the game (never did a single race and didn't really go after the skulls/drug drops/black boxes).

The weirdest thing was that I unlocked the final mission to kill Baby Panay while I still had 5-8 other missions left to complete. Kinda makes sense to not have the final mission pop up on the map until I've completed all other ones, no?

I think I'd rather restart the game from scratch than screw around and try to get to 100%. The game is a lot of fun, I'm sure I'll replay the entire thing again.

I haven't hit anything frustrating yet. I just read through the thread and some said it got sort of "annoying". I was just wondering if anyone thought the normal level detracted from the game and would have been more enjoyable had they just done casual.

Capp, that's why I like the way this game is made. You can just run around causing chaos all day if you want. There are only like 8 main missions which means you can beat the game fast. Also, with all the challenges, you can months, if not a year of gameplay with this game. I recommend that people never trade this in because you get a lot for your 60 ( now probably less) bucks.
