Alright, so I bought this game tonight due to everyone in this thread and the tiny bit i was able to play it were so damn fun. I was only able to play for a tiny bit due to my cat bumping a vertical Xbox 360 and causing the disc to scratch. I can't really get the game to play at all right now. Does anyone have any magic fixes for this (or any other advice)?

Holy....this game is huge....I finally got my hands on a military helicopter...damn.


I though GTA IV was an "open world"....damn...

My advice is when you find a new Settlement, stay there and do 100 percent of it before moving on. Its so easy to forget things because there is so much to do.

True, but at least you can extract back to it once you've discovered the location.

For the settlements do you just have to search around to find all the things to destroy? There's the obvious things, but sometimes it doesn't seem obvious what to destroy after a little while.

Rented this and finally was able to play a little this morning for about 30 minutes. I'm really liking it. It reminds me a little bit of Red Faction Guerilla with the destruction element but it looks much better than that game ever could.

Like somebody mentioned earlier, multiplayer would be crazy good

Basically, if something has the white star on it, just destroy it. Also on your mini-map sometimes you will see a cell phone reception symbol. the higher the signal gets, the closer you are to a object.

Yeah, i gotcha. I also didn't realize the 100% counted weapon and vehicle parts, along with the cash bonuses. Now that I know to look for those it makes it a little easier. Still sucks when you have one little transformer hiding in a big base to find, but not too bad.

Whenever i complete a mission i'm trying to get 100% on that easy base...haven't gone through a ton of civilian areas for 100% yet though.

I was lucky in that I pre ordered from Amazon. the deal included access to a Assault rifle that has max power and a sniper scope. Sometimes I will use the scope to find things that are hard to see. the Panau city areas have lots of things that hide from you.

Can you die in this game? I've watched some vidoes and it seems like your character can escape from anything and always comes on top...

Oh yeah, you can most certainly die.

Plane Crash, too many bullets, etc.

It's very easy actually, just don't open your chute.

Thanks for the impressions fella's sounds like a fun title. 2 quick questions:

When you die does it load from your last save or something like that?

Does this game have save anywhere or only checkpoints?


I love games like this but i hate when you have to backtrack over massive distances when you die etc if its not very well thought out.

Jonesy,

I believe you can save anywhere, and it auto saves after completion of towns/villages, etc.

As for backtracking, once you get past the 3rd mission or something you can call for a helicopter to pick you up and take you anywhere you've discovered on the map and drop you off. Much like the Taxi system in GTA IV.
