Okay I finally finished the single-player campaign so I can come in this thread now....

Regarding your comment, I have been punishing people using the GL by simply using the TK plasmid to grab the grenade and toss it back.
Then I can finish the job with a pistol shot or two.

The movie Shutter Island reminds me of Bioshock for some reason.

Just got the game Wednesday and played until I was literally falling asleep at the screen. Haven't had a chance to touch it since with school and now the fiance is dragging me out all weekend to wedding planning events. ARGH!

Started playing wednesday, and then I got up at like 5:30 this morning and knocked it out. Really an enjoyable game, and I love the drill. Just wish the damn thing had more fuel.

            Its all about the drill.

How long did it take you to complete? Curious as to how much time I have left.

I can't remember, I just know the section from Fontaine Futuristics till the end of the game took me roughly three hours, granted I rushed through the end and missed the last Power to the People machine >_<.

Was the DLC already available on the disc? Hmm, it appears so:

2K fans are upset that the new BioShock 2 DLC may have already by stored on the disk.

That is the kind of DLC I'm not a fan of.

It was put on the disc so that the DLC wouldn't split the player base. So people who didn't have the DLC could not play with people who had DLC. So that's pretty much splitting your multiplayer community right down the middle.

Does anyone have this on PC and got it off steam? I got it to play and I was halfway through the first level when it shut down. I got the normal "send error report to microsoft" screen. I unistalled and now I only make it a few seconds into the opening of the developer credits.

This sequel is a bit of a disappointment for me. Same environment which looks great, but missing out on the 'wow' factor since you've been there before. Rapture felt more authentic the first time. The train stops that move you between levels (like the tram in Dead Space), makes Rapture seem like a game world instead of an undwerworld city.
It doesn't feel much different playing as a Big Daddy than as a normal guy in the first. The drill is cool.
My major gripe is the Little Sister routine. I decided to save them (like I did the first time) and the whole process gets tedious after the 3rd or 4th time you have to go through it. I am almost ready to give up on the game or give up saving the Sisters.
It's still a very good game. But overall I would have enjoyed playing through the first game again more than this one.

I got to a point where I just froze every one and hit them with the drill. Drill = King.

Still trying to get mine to work. Bought it during the big steam sale.

5 tickets into 2K support AND their consumer advocate which you go to when you get bad support and I have not received a single reply.

Luckily steam has been trying to find the issue and said they contacted 2K on my behalf.

                              Story-driven BioShock 2 DLC announced

                              2K Games has announced Minerva's Den, a single-player story-driven downloadable add-on for shooter BioShock 2.

BioShock 2's final instalment of DLC introduces new characters, locations and enemies to the underwater city Rapture, and will be released "later this fall" for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. That's this autumn, to you and me.

"Minerva's Den is a self-contained narrative experience that puts players in the role of an all-new character who has teamed up with Brigid Tenenbaum to unravel a dictator's stranglehold on a key district in the distinctive city under the sea," says the official blurb.

2K president Christoph Hartmann had this to say: "Minerva's Den is a substantial addition that will give players more of what they're looking for: more story, more narrative, more gameplay and more of Rapture.

"The core team has created an exciting product that further enhances the mystery and allure of the world of Rapture. Minerva's Den will be a fitting conclusion to the BioShock 2 saga."

So, where will Minerva's Den take us? To a never before seen district of Rapture, that's where.

You'll "uncover the dark secrets hidden in its founder's past. Wield new high-tech weaponry and a devastating new Plasmid to best the towering threats in Minerva's Den: more dangerous Splicers that command the power of the elements, upgraded Security Bots that throw rockets and lightning bolts, and even a never-before-seen type of Big Daddy".
                              Go Noles!!! >>----->
