This is what I tried, to no avail, but as I said before, I just think I didn't do it right. I'll do it now to see if it works.

Re: dolby surround systems
To no avail, it din't work. I tried everything. Either the sound was compromised, or the video was compromised, or either both were on but it was just on regular sound in dsp mode, so I'm stuck unless I can figure out another way to do this.
Any suggestions and prices on what to buy?Comment

So for all the sound experts out there, should I trade my Bose freestyle and get a klipsch sound system for a little cheaper price?

Forgot all about this thread!
Yeah, I'd go for the Klipsch system. It's easy to set up and has excellent sound for such a small system. With the system I mentioned above, it comes with the Dobly Digital/DTS decoder and you won't have to buy a sep. receiver (more money). But please drop the BoseComment

It won't be in digital sound unless you have a digital optical cable for sound. My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: dolby surround systems
I bought this system back in december for around 210 dollars. 375 max wattage, built in subs, dolby digital decoder built in. He had the works!
Link
I then went out and bought an additional 90 dollar Sub woofer.
I have a 13x13 room, so it suits my need perfectly.
For dolby digitial sound via XBOX you'll be required to have a receiver or home stereo system that allows for a digitial optical input/output. Without that you will only get standard sound.
Standard sound is with the standard RCA cables. The red, white, and yellow cables. You get that via your VCR's red, white and yellow plugs or your tv's red, white, and yellow plugs.
My situation is alittle rare. My tv doesnt support s-video so I needed any additional RCA a/v cable to hook up to my VCR to get picture. The advanced AV pack doesnt include video cables for those without svideo, so be cautioned.
If you have any questions about hooking any of this type of stuff up you can ask me.
ps, I also have my digitial cable box hooked up via the Digitial coaxial cable to my stereo. I now get Dolby Digitial sound during NBA games.Comment
