Re: Lost Odyssey Impressions
Yeah, I'm not saying its bad. I need to listen to the English VA because the characters say stuff at times in japanese that don't have caption. I'm guessing this is because its background chatter.Comment

Re: Lost Odyssey Impressions
Just played a bit more, I'm moving a bit slowly but I always do in RPGs. Still on Disc 1 with 7 hours in
I'll say this- this game has the best music I've ever heard in a video game. Don't get me wrong, I loved the FF VII soundtrack too but there's something about the music of the game. I actually anticipate starting battles because of the battle music- its just beautiful. Uemtasu is just in another world when it comes to composing music.Last edited by Spectre; 02-28-2008, 03:29 AM.

Re: Lost Odyssey Impressions
I'll post this in the spoiler tag, but was wondering if anyone could give me some tips to help me through an area I have been stuck at for the past two nights.
SpoilerI just got Sarah and am at the Black Cave/Swamp. I guess the trouble I am having is that I always fall through the ground back down to the swamp level. I try to avoid the breeze areas to keep my firefly light on, but sometimes that doesnt work.
The kicker is that it seems like a tough area to do battle. Alot of the enemies are tough and I always face a battle that I can't win. With no save points, I just keep starting over and suffering the same faith. I am currently at level 26. Any tips? Can't remember the enemy name, but do any spells work on those guys who can kick the spells back at you? I don't even use spells on them anymore since their comeback spells are always stronger when used on me. Ha ha.Comment

Their are enemies there that do percentage based attacks so at lower levels it's frustrating.
I don't remember having too much of a problem with fireflies blowing off. There are a good amount of those firefly "re-supply" points, just keep your eye out for them. For the battles, I'd suggest using the white magic spell Cover. It's a really good protection spell and will negate damage for a few rounds. I don't remember who is available for your party at that point but I'd take Cooke and teach Ming and Sarah to her White magic if you can as well as her inherent skill reduce casting time. Give Cooke one of the Spirit magic accessories and cast Powera on your front line, make her full support. Other than that, take your time navigating. It was a frustrating area, but once I took it slow to make sure I was avoiding the pot holes I was fine.
Also, don't be afraid to try to flee.PS: You guys are great.

Never tried that spell, but it sounds like it will work well. I think it is just a bad combo of things that is getting me killed. Will try these things out tonight. Thanks again.Comment

Re: Lost Odyssey Impressions
I agree. Its difficult to compare RPG's with shooters, or sports games, or any other genre, but this game is as good as any game I've ever played.Jordan Mychal Lemos
