Re: Lost Odyssey Impressions
Well, after 3 weeks of laziness I finally cleared the third disc after breezing through the first two. Sadly I ran from every battle in the burning cavern.Comment

Wimp
Anyway, so I've been listening to virtually every track from the OST recently. Man, there is some beautiful stuff in there.
I love the Battle theme, but this one gives me chills, ya'll will recognize it immediately

Re: Lost Odyssey Impressions
I am very late to this party.
I am an hour in and boy is this one beautiful RPG. I haven't played a JRPG since FFX-2, and I used to play these all the time. I love that this follows traditional JRPG gameplay.........except for the savepoints.
From the reviews, I was turned off by the ring system...........after I have tried it now briefly, it doesn't seem so bad.Comment

Re: Lost Odyssey Impressions
A year later... I picked this up used last week because I have been looking for a JRPG on a next gen system to fill a void. FF12 is okay upscaled on the PS3 but it it doesn't compare to a full HD experience.
Sorry for the ADD style post, but I just wanted to share some quick thoughts.
Good game so far, but the dream sequences, although well written, get a little much after the 10th or 11th one.
What's up with the outfits on the women in your party? I don't mind skin, but not like this on a computer generated character. JRPG developers need to calm down with this stuff. There is a point where it gets embarrassing.
I just got to disc 3 and the story is picking up. I am glad I level grind to 50 at the Atoll.
Side note: I level grind in every RPG. I remember in FFVII I level grinded to a point that Cloud was doing 9999 damage on every 4 combo hit. It's what make it fun for me. So I can't stand when enemies level with you.
Below may contain party spoilers that join late disc 1 or early disc 2
SpoilerI think Cooke and Mack are the first children in a JRPG that I actually care about. They don't annoy me one bit, and the act like kids. It's pretty cool.
Thanks for reading.Comment

Re: Lost Odyssey Impressions
I never did finish this game. I kind of lost interest when my TV messed up last year and I couldn't see about 5 inches of each side of the screen so I just stopped playing it until I got a new TV and then never could start back on it.Comment

Re: Lost Odyssey Impressions
I didn't think the outfits on Seth & Sarah were too bad, but I'd have to question what Ming is wearing. Just like I have to question the protection afforded to Kaim by his half breast plate.A year later... Re: Lost Odyssey Impressions
I actually like Seth. Jansen, annoys me though. He sounds like a voice actor trying to do James Wood.Comment
