It's time for GH to move beyond just slogging through a set list though, I hope there's some new feature in career mode to keep things fresh.
yeah I hope career mode is deeper in GH IV, but I'm not expecting much in new innovations for Aerosmith. I think just following a setlist that progresses through Aerosmith's career in real life locations with real band members that you are playing with is enough for me. Of course, wasn't the first location on GH3 a high school gym or was that one of the previous GH games? The first location on Aerosmith is suppose to be a HS as well, so they might not change the locations that much.

GH IV needs to have more than just a linear setlist and incorporate the DLC somehow like Rock Band does. Of course, I like playing the songs from the quick play menu just as much as career mode, so I'll keep getting them even if the career mode stays the same, LOL.

      Re: Guitar Hero: Aerosmith

The April issue of GI Magazine has more details on this release. It appears that the final set list has yet to be fully released to the media, however the following are supposedly definites:
"Movin' Out" and "Make It" from the LP Aerosmith
(Both of the above required the band to return to the studio to re-record as the master tracks were apparently "lost")
"Sweet Emotion" and "Uncle Salty" from the LP Toys In The Attic
"Draw The Line" and "Kings and Queens" from the LP Draw The Line
"No Surprize" from the LP Night In The Ruts (Right In The Nuts)

Some of the band's influences and contemporaries slated to be in the game include:
"All The Young Dudes" by Mott the Hoople
"All Day And All Of The Night" by The Kinks
"I Hate Myself For Loving You" by Joan Jett (this one took me by surprise)
      and
      "Dream Police" by Cheap Trick

Just to reiterate some of the info that was contained within the USA Today link that aukevin posted a little while back:

Apparently the game will feature venues that Aerosmith actually played throughout their history including Nipmuc Regional H.S. in Massachusetts (the band's first gig ever), Max's Kansas City (where Clive Davis signed the band to its first record deal), the Orpheum Theatre in Boston and an "NFL license-free version of the 2001 Super Bowl halftime show."

Some of the venues will be docorated in the theme of some of the bands most infamous album covers.

I was a bit skeptical about plunking down big money for seemingly another set list of songs for the GH franchise, but this article has me more excited. Check it out if you get a chance.

Me too. Surely it will be included on the list. There aren't a ton of great Aerosmith guitar songs from their more recent stuff, but this would definitely be fun to play.

I can't wait for this one and I'm glad they are doing 1 band for the entire collection. If someone doesn't like Aerosmith, I guess it would suck for them that this is being released.

The more that gets released about this game, the more likely it is that I'll hold off buying this.

I like a few Aerosmith songs but none of the other bands mentioned thus far really excite me.

I'll wait til the final list is out before making a final decision though.

Can't stand Aerosmith :\ But I'm not that disappointed. Since I've gotten Rock Band, I haven't even looked at the Guitar Hero games.

                          No real shock but...

Destructoid has reported that the Guitar Hero: Aerosmith game and bundle will retail for $99 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii, and $89 for the PS2. Fans who pre-order the game and guitar will get an exclusive Aerosmith faceplate, and an Aerosmith tour book.

It'll probably be $50 for PS2, $60 for everyone else.
