I went to Rome first, I'm in Taipei now, and I'm saving Moscow for last. I wanted to have my skill set up before I dealt with the Ruskies.Jordan Mychal Lemos

SpoilerYes. It was a relatively easy choice, because I didn't feel that connected to her. I think that if the plot had forced me to use her as a handler for several missions, then maybe I would have had a harder time letting her die.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Alpha Protocol (Obsidian's new action-RPG)
I'm guessing by my ending achievements I went and loaded the wrong file, unless Sis counts. Also towards the end I switched handlers without actually wanting to so had to play through again anyway. Though if I loaded the wrong file that ending doesn't make sense.
SpoilerI had a file for...romancing...Scarlet and one where I didn't. She ended up being my handler instead of Albatross because I chose 'Join Forces' after getting her out of the room thinking she'd just come along and help but no she turned out to take over as my handler. However if I did load the file where she was romanced it doesn't make any sense that it was Mina on the boat with me in the ending but if I didn't then it doesn't make sense that I didn't get the achievement for not having a romance. Sis didn't seem to have a romance option but she was the one that got me off the table, smiled and tossed me her gun which was strange I couldn't use. I had the max possible points with her but that's only 3 though I have read it's hers + Albatross so that'd actually be 11.
Also how in the heck would anyone beat that Darcy battle without Shadow Op?
Another thing about the ending,I wasn't given the option to blow both of them up? I got the one for reconciling with Alpha Protocol.Last edited by goh; 06-08-2010, 02:54 PM.Comment

Re: Alpha Protocol (Obsidian's new action-RPG)
So I'm about to play through the ending for a FOURTH time to see if I can get the one I was aiming for to begin with, well the one that I was aiming for that's actually available anyway. I really thought I had it last time.Bah looks like I don't have the option for that one.
Also that no romance achievement is a bit tricky. Doesn't work how you would think it works.
SpoilerYou MUST pick SIE as your handler for the final mission to get it to work so the last romance scene can be turned down. You can pick her,get the achievement and re-load since you get it soon as she sets you free in case you wanted it or are wondering why you didn't get it either.Last edited by goh; 06-09-2010, 01:44 AM.Comment

I'm in Moscow.
SpoilerSaving Sukov has been the hardest mission for me in the entire game so far. Dude did not understand the concept of running away from a live grenade.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Alpha Protocol (Obsidian's new action-RPG)
Finally done. This is a really good game, that could have been an all time great with a couple of different design decisions and a better programmer in charge of tuning the A.I.
Alpha Protocol is a flawed gem, that i'm sure most people will appreciate playing.
I think the less than blockbuster sales may kill the sequel that had already been planned, but boy would I like to see another game. I think Obsidian would really learn from their mistakes and create a true masterpiece.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Alpha Protocol (Obsidian's new action-RPG)
Just got this off of Amazon for 15 bucks (PC Version). It's not bad. I went in and made some recommended tweaks to the .ini files for control, visuals, and movement...helped a bit.
The frick'n minigames for hacking and lockpicking kick my *** though. My eyes just aren't good enough for the hacking most times, and it seems you have ZERO give for setting the L trigger on lockpicking. It's been frustrating. Other than that, so far, so good.Comment

Re: Alpha Protocol (Obsidian's new action-RPG)
That's what I've read. Apparently there is a pretty good split between those who love the challenge and those who are "noobs" for hating it...lol. I think I'm going to switch away from pad controls for such situations and see how that goes. As for the hacking, I'll just have to suck it up...at least I can back out and retry before the timer goes off.
In my search for answers I came across a trainer that apparently freezes the timer for all these things, but I really don't want to go that route (as much as I suck, I do want some challenge).
