Game was below average overall. The concept was stellar, but it just didn't pan out.

One question I was left with was how doesn't the dude end up with a bad back from all that awkward bend over walking? Unless that gets a better animation as you up your skills or something. I didn't get too far as I just lost interest.

How can you honestly say the game was below average if you admittedly didn't play t that much?

I played it quite a bit. I just didn't finish it. I went about 60% of the way. It didn't hook me into the story which was supposed to be the game's strong point.

And I can still say that what I played of the game was below average. I never beat Kingdom Hearts 1(pre-Gamefly era, game was due back at Blockbuster), but I know it was a pretty good game.

How can you say in one post that you didn't get too far and then in another post you say you played it quite a bit and made it to 60% of the game ? You contradicting yourself.

Easily when I'm already chronic exaggerator. And I don't know how long the game is. I only got as far as
            Spoiler
. If that gives you an idea.

Well ok thats not 60% then, that is 10% of the game completed. Should have played longer, game gets better. Kind of how Red Dead Redemption and Mass Effect 2 starts off slow but gets better the further along the story you get.

Yea my friend who played this game on my advice wanted to stop at that point too. The Story is your generic Video Game story at that point, before it gets any good. AP was a pretty solid game imo, sure the Voice Acting made me want to vomit but the controls were pretty good, Music was good, and sneaking up on baddies was fun. This was a extremely underrated game, it was a solid rental for me.

I think its sad how much hate this game gets, you'd think it was virtually unplayable.

Re: Alpha Protocol (Obsidian's new action-RPG)

Yeah this game is fun because it has multiple endings and there are several ways you can go about playing it. You can run and gun, be stealthy, go steven segal martial arts crazy with it or you can go the non lethal passive route.

The key to it all is that you just got to make sure you match up your armor type, weapons type and skill abilities type with the style of play you want to play as.

Once you match everything up and level up, the game is bad ***. Lock picking and hacking become a breeze to do if you level up engineering. You make a whole lot more money too if you level up engineering.

Just picked it up and played for a hour or so last night. Just getting thru the first desert missions, but I like it OK so far. It is my kind of game. Maybe a little "last-gen" in some of it's gameplay mechanics but I dig it.

The hacking is frustrating but I'm getting the hang of it. Picking locks with 7 spots sucks too, LOL. I'm quickly finding out that I need to equip myself for the situation, LOL.

I'm going in as a "Freelance" and keeping a "whatever" attitude when I talk to people on the 1st play through. I know there is a wikia page for this game, because it has so many different ways it can play out.

I just need to quit feeling guilty for not starting other games and keep playing this one! Ahh!

Edit: And I had an awesome situation last night where I was stealth taking down guards, thought I had them all, climbed up into a gunner's tower and OOPS, there's a guy waiting with a freakin machine gun. I had no idea it was even manned, LOL. I also love tackling the mission differently according to the way it's playing out.

I started playing through this last night. Wish their had been better character modification capabilities. The game feels sub-par in many ways, but I do enjoy how they did their dialog options. Fairly unique, and keeps the gamer thinking.

Picked this up today at Gamestop's Buy 2 get 1 free sale. The gunplay is a bit weak, but I'm enjoying the game so far.

You barely need guns. You can set up a martial arts/stealth character that can walk right up to them while invisible and use takedowns. Even just KOing makes them disappear,it's not like other games where they're dazed and get up eventually.
