The gameplay felt clunky to me. It seemed like a decent enough game but I didn't bother playing this one for very long.

Yeah, if I paid $60 for it I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it and not over-looked a lot of its problems. For $12 its a good game and I actually want to go through it at least one more time.

Re: Alpha Protocol (Obsidian's new action-RPG)
How should I start? What's with the "already established" charcters and the "recruit" or "veteran" options at the bottom in the beginning?
Is recruit for people who are just starting out on their first playthrough? I guess that would be me.
And really I'm only playing it for the trophies, so which should I choose to get me on the fastest track to unlocking my digital trinkets?
Edit; I guess that's more than one question....Last edited by Chef Matt; 01-11-2012, 12:48 PM.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Haven't really gotten into it yet. I suppose I should give it a fair shot. Re: Alpha Protocol (Obsidian's new action-RPG)
Picked this up last week for like $6. So far I've only played the training and 3 missions. The hacking mechanics and decision making feels a bit dated, but the everything else gameplay wise is a lot of fun.
If you're looking for a title to hold you over until your next purchase, you can't go wrong with this game. Well worth the $6 price tag.Comment

Gave this one a good go last night. Did two of the training missions. Good fun all in all but a bit overwhelmed at the moment. I was clueless what to do in the the gadget training room. And I can't make heads or tails of the inventory/skills menu screen. I figure this stuff will come along as I play. Should be good.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Alpha Protocol (Obsidian's new action-RPG)
Totally. I had a hard time in the Saudi Arabia area learning what things were for and what gadgets did but now that I'm through that I got a pretty good handle on the game. Alot of fun. Well worth the 5 bucks or whatever I paid for it. I just went through some CIA safehouse and completed all objectives and didn't get seen nor did touch a single agent. Thats the kind "tactical espionage" I enjoy.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon.
