Got my first Trophy tonight. It was for 50 kill assists. looks like the rest will take me a while.

For some reason after the patch, I suck really bad. Before, I had like a 3:1 kill ratio, now I can barely break even. Definitely strange.

nope, everything is unlocked. Joining a clan gets you one gun and special gear for that clan (Camo, helmet etc.)

I get the feeling everybody came back to play so your getting the best players really doing well. Also, they did increase the damage radius of the grenades. here is a link to watch Slant six fixed in the patch:

I was on yesterday, tried polaying in your game but it was always full. Get me a clan invite when you get a chance. This is going to get a lot of play time now with the patch

A couple of questions....

1) How is the quick match ??? Can I just click on quick match and set it to "Crossroads" - "8 vs 8" - "ranked" and it will put me into a game ???

2) How is the party mode ?? Can me and only 1 friend use it ?? I know it's only for 16 vs 16 matches, but can me and just 1 friend stick together and keep playing and switching from different games ??

3) On your friends list, can you now see what game your friends are in ?? Instead of it just saying "in game " ??

4) I read that RPG's and Grenade Launchers are now "restricted" during ranked games. Does this mean that they CAN NOT be used at all ?? Or only to a certain extent ??

1. the quick match right now is only for 16x16.

2. to get party mode to work you have to have 4 people on both sides otherwise it just kicks you out back to the menu.

3. while in game hit the xmb and you can see what room they are in. One caveat to this is Sony only allowed 20 letters to be written to show the rooms so the room may not totally be shown when looking at what room your friend is in.

4. Both cannot be used at all. No "Newb tubes" in the ranked world. Trust me, its much better this way.

This game is so freaking awesome. I just wish they had a damn search engine, it takes me about 10 minutes to find a game that I want to play.

Thinking about buying SOCOM, does it have a training mode to get you familiar with controls, etc.?

Nope, you pretty much have to learn during real games.
