Lets say you want NBA 2K8 on the PS3 but have it on the 360.

360 copy: 800 points
PS3 copy: 700 points

You list your 360 copy, and get a number. There is a que to who gets your game. Once a person is assigned, you ship it to them and get the 800 points.

Once you have the 800 points in your account, you go ahead and and put a game in your cart and you are put in another que. This time for people requesting the game. Once it is your turn, the person ships you the game and you lose 700 points. 100 points left over for further transactions.

Hope that made sense.

The waiting times are really short. When I put a game up for trade I usually had a person requesting it within in an hour or so. When I wanted a game it took a day, two the most.

That makes sense, but is the person you ship to the one who puts you up for the 800 points?

Also do they look for old games too?

Yep.

If have less than a 20 rating, the points will be held by Goozex until feedback is provided. Once you have 20 or more rating, the points will be instantly and there will be no waiting period. Basically each positive rating is 10 points. So two trades and you're good to go.

As far as old games, yes. You can click on each game to see how many current requests there are for the game and how many people are putting it up for trade.

I have over 275 trades there and in my opinion it is easier and completely free.

My biggest complaint with goozex is there is no condition check in the trading. Having mint and complete games is crucial for me. Gametz doesn't have that issue.

Strangely, I very rarely use ebay anymore. If it is a dvd or a game, I simultaneously list it on dvdtalk, highdefdigest, craigslist, gametz and amazon and the first one that bites wins...

It takes about 5 minutes tops and usually will sell within a few hours tops.

Actually I've only been a member there for less than a month. I found about it on cheapassgamer.com.

Right, you are trading the game for points which in turn you will use to trade those points for another game.

As I mentioned earlier though, you will have to buy trade credits. The first is free and after that they sell them in packs. 5 for $5. The bigger the pack, the more you save. You only use the trade credits when you are the one shipping the game.

You are still rolling the dice on condition. I am not knocking the site, I think gametz is better, but goozex and amazon are the two best to get rid of common games too late (ie old sports games and such).

And I am sure there are arbitrages to be found with their point system...

Yes. It ends up costing $3.00 for the whole thing. A little less than you would lose on eBay and Pay Pal fees.

You do get more value though.
