EA doesn't own TT yet, and probably won't before GTA gets released.

Stockholders would be pissed off that the game is pushed back months for little to no reason when it's already done.

The logistics of delaying a game when weeks away from release could cost them a nice bit of money as well.

The fact that delaying this game to the holidays for better sales is simply stupid, given that it will already break sales records now. The potential of an additional spike in holiday sales is shaky at best, since parents won't be as eager to buy their kids a notoriously controversial M rated game for their stockings.

I didn't really know about this Pachter dude until recently, but I take everything he says with a grain of salt. Call me an elitist, but the guy doesn't even work for a big bank. I mean, I'd love if analysts from JP, Goldman, Morgan Stanley etc. had some opinions but everybody just slurps up what he says without questioning it because no other analysts are public about the gaming industry.

This guy just loves to hear himself talk.

The videogame industry has been notoriously difficult to predict anyway- so much turnover at the management level hasn't helped causes.

he seems legit. HOWEVER i agree with his second statement the most. Take Two needs to get this game out. Holding off on selling just to sell at the last minute and give it to Ea so that they could deklay it more makes no sense. it's the fact that we're maybe 3 weeks away from official release that make it crazy

Hm yes I wouldn't trust anything this Pachter guy says. I mean has he been right about anything before? TT would be stupid to hold off the release just because they're close to being bought out. Remember it's not even a friendly take over it's a hostile takeover bid which means TT could be smart and release the game before EA finalizes the sale just to piss em off.

It's almost like EA is being run by Vince McMahon and he is trying to get EA over as a major heel in his promotion - The analyst does not seemingly have a grasp on reality. I mean he says "we do not believe that the game's reviews or first week's sales will ultimately impact the company's valuation in any meaningful way." WHAT? Are you serious?
1. Gamers like ourselves are going to buy this game basically sight unseen - without playing a demo or reading any reviews.
2. IGN/Gamespot etc. will review and those who are on the fence will read that this game is a must buy.
3. The mainstream media will rip into this game at somepoint and create a firestorm of controversy over the games content - thus creating more hype and subsequent additional sales.

This game could blow the doors off of Halo, 1,2 & 3 combined after it's all said and done. For all we know, EA has a hand up Patcher's rear and sending him lines to speel verbatim regarding the Take Two aquisition, in order to create chaos for shareholders of Take two and potential 3rd party buyers that are not EA -

Bottom line, game not delayed due to agreements in principle with Microsoft - and I am sure Sony has something as well to ensure April release.....

Graphics look alright I am sure it will be fine though. I don't really like the way the names are shown, but eh... not sure how else they could have done it.
