I pre-ordered last week because I thought the game was coming out March 4th...

I got mixed up with the baseball games because I would never pre-order a game months in advance.

Oh well, just have to wait until the end of April now.

I already pre-ordered when I pre-purchased The Show two weeks ago when I switched over to PS3.

Aside from the downloadable content or the 360, is everything else basically the same for the PS3 and 360 version? I have it preordered on 360, but I am thinking of switching to the PS3 for two reasons. One, i'm always worried about my 360 crapping out again. And two, I have an HDMI cable that works with the PS3, and i'm not spending the arm and a leg to purchase one for the 360. So the graphics should be better running on the PS3 with my HDMI cable.

Is there any word on what exactly the DL'able content is? Is it worth it to get it on the 360 still, or in my case, the PS3?

if you have both, the 360 version is the one to get. Otherwise, nothing is a deal breaker. Even though the 360 DLC sounds great, I can always try it out later.

If you're worried about the 360 dying on you,just get the PS3 version,that's what I'm gonna do. It's not like the downlable stuff is coming out right away.

The Sixaxis will be used in GTA4 but in a way thats done Right.
* A possible MMPOG GTA in the future. May be subscription based.
* Beat up cars will eventually stall, leaving you to flee on foot.
* Tires will shred apart when they are shot.
* Ps3 Version will have warmer colors while the 360 version will have more vibrant colors.
* Tap Up on the D-pad brings up the Cell phone. Up a second time brings up the key pad.
* There are several different cell phones you gain through out the game. the basic has contacts, organizer, camera, and multiplayer mode. The MP3 version is obtained later in the game.
* You can kill anyone and everyone, even your contacts.
* Theres a conservative talk station called WKTT (We Know the Truth). This is making fun of Rush limbaugh and will have those red stater rants that was recorded from real fans that called in doing that time period R* was taking calls from fans.
* DJ Lazlow Returns
* Bloggers play some form in the game.
* The old GTA cheat codes we come to love seem to have returned.
* You can drop grenades out of the vehicle while driving. you can also "cook" the grenades.
* R* is really getting into episodic downloads. may see some for the PS3 version.

some of this may be repeat info, but I thought the last bullet point was the most interesting. So even though the 360 gets exclusive DLC, both might get extra episodic content.

I love that they have the cheat codes back. That way, I can save one game for a cheat-free playthrough, and the other just for fun. Plus, my fiance usually has fun with GTA games, but sucks at them, so she'll need cheats

I read the EGM article and nothing is said or motioned to about PS3 episodic content.

EGM:We actually liked the two-player modes in San Andreas....

SH:If you enjoyed that, then I think you're going to be a happy man. For me, though, the combination of what we're doing with multiplayer and what we're doing with the [downloadable XB360] episodes is the start of us putting our toes in this water and seeing how our audience...adapts to online. Is episodic content the way forward for them? These are things we're going to find out. I'm very excited about the episodes. I think they're going to work beautifully well, particularly if you played the single-player experience---how they connect. Again, without giving too much away. We're absolutely going to head down that path. We're already kind of on it...

EGM: Nobody's been very successful with the massively multiplayer thing on the consoles....

SH: No one's done it, and it's like the Holy Grail. I think if you can combine the vibe and the attitude and also the gameplay and the tangibility of the games we make, with some kind of---for want of a better term---MMO subscription model, I think that's like the golden-goal kind of thing. It's such a creatively fascinating place to be.... Keeping the world like the one you experienced for a couple of hours today alive---I could think of a hundred ways of doing that every day. So I think this is a world that really can support it. But it's not just a done deal. It's a complex, challenging process. IMagine that world, populated by a lot of people---it wouldn't be unpleasant, would it?

but then again i'm being close minded to the fact that MS has been on record stating that no other platform can get episodic content and Rockstar calling the 360 version the COMPLETE version

DLC does not necessarily mean episodic content... DLC can mean new cars, new clothes, etc.

Sixaxis controls are the motion based controls that the PS3 remote is capable of. They have been pretty bad so far.
