both games are supposed to be nearly identical.

Nope the Ps3 version is superior in every facet! The Xbox 360 version has a big problem with the map loading before your very eyes (not fast enough)
the horizon on the 360 version loads before your eyes! Playstation 3 version is razor sharp with no graphical impurities marring the image quality. Xbox 360 also has Aliased graphics (no anti aliasing it seems) Ps3 is butter smooth! Awful I am getting this for Ps3.

Other than load times, no one is going to notice much unless. This isn't like the difference between Xbox and PS2 games.

360 has one big advantage for online games, its network. I can't imagine playing online games on their network. It's a pretty brutal wasteland..

Dude Grand theft Auto games were never big at all, in Fact the biggest game was Vice City at 900 Megs for Xbox1 hahahahaha. And Yes with HD gaming plain ole DVD-Rom is too small, much too small!

sigh..since when has game size meant they were good? If anything, it just shows how skilled rockstar is at optimizing their games to get size down. GTA never looked the best, but they are almost always deeper than anything else out.

The sony hype machine is quick to hail when it has a game that is like 22 gig or that MGS4 is "too small" for bluray, but it's all done with uncompressed files and duplicates to shorten loading time. When games like CoD4 and GTA4 look identical and run very well on a DVD, it's not in any trouble at all.

The fact that the first 10/10 overall blockbuster next gen game as beautiful and complex as GTA fits on a DVD makes bluray pointless for games for now. We'll be looking at the next round of consoles in what 2010?

For those wanting to know which version looks better, the edge goes to the PS3. The textures and framerate are comparable, but the PS3 has far less pop-in. The 360 has richer colors, but the PS3 has better anti-aliasing making it look a little cleaner. Because GTA IV can preload onto the PS3 hard drive, the in-game loads are faster. Don't worry Xbox owners, the load times are rarely more than 30 seconds and don't occur very often. The slight visual edge goes to PS3, but the 360 is no slouch. Either version will do you proud.

I got the new OXM yesterday and the rumor is 2010 for the next XBox though, which sucks.

well the playstation, ps2, xbox, and n64 all lasted 4-6 years. Even the NES only lasted like 5 years in the US until the SNES was launched. The 360 came out in late 05, and the ps3 came out in late 06. late 2010 and 2011 will be around the normal years of life for a home console.

I don't know what Sony will do, but MS went a year ahead to get the advantage of setting when console prices drop and the next generation starts first. There is no way Sony can possibly come out with a new console by late 2010, but MS could.

as much as I'd like for this to be true because it's the version i'm getting i don't think it is. 360 owners are gonna be lovin their version and so will ps3 owners.I personally am in awe of it getting a 10 I watch the 720p video and altogether stretched out you can not really tell but the lighting model is INSANE on this game....

as someone who has both systems, i'm torn in terms of what to get. While my coworkers have the 360 (and god, since i'm a cop, it would be so much fun playing this game online with other coworkers), i do prefer a cleaner version of the game graphically as well...


the other part that makes me want to stick 360 though was the IGN review saying it had richer colors. I really do buy into rich colors a lot. It's one of the reasons i like Saint's Row so much in terms of aesthetics.

MS would be dead to me, I'm not doing this new console every 5 years crap now. There's not much more they can get out of systems, since they can't even get this gen's 360 up to snuff, I'm not exactly confident the next version will be any better.
