What is the last game you've seen sold out, especially a big game?

yeah, the game won't sell out or be in short supply, as the whole reason we have to wait like this is to build up supply around to retailers. Unless you need it by midnight, there won't be much of a hassle in getting it.

As much as I hate hearing that the 360 version has this pop-in problem, I just can't overlook the huge difference in favor of the 360 when it comes to online play. I may at some point down the road buy the PS3 version as well but for now 360 gets my $$$$

pop ins are there, but not as apparent as some make it seem... like it's nothing CONSTANT... it just happens moreso on the 360 than the PS3 (but not a lot to the point where it's unplayable)

I dont think its a big deal. The only way i'd get mad is if it was laggy like Live 04 was.

This is really a small to non issue.

Your area is terrible. I've never seen a game sold out in any place I've lived in.

only time its really noticeable is when your driving around...sometimes everything just comes outta nowhere(buildings, trees, and bridges)

well the gamestops all pre order stuff rarely do i see more than 4 to 5 extra copies of stuff. then theres the targets the walmarts that get stuff a week later and are freaquented by many

but which ever as long as you have a pre order your pretty much fine

Seeing I've played every other GTA game for consoles, and all of those had pop-in, I definately won't have a problem with this. Specially seeing I'm gonna assume its been improved since the previous iterations.

Wal-Mart is the biggest retailer in the US. It used to be like CC where games were an afterthought and the games would sit in the warehouse or backroom until someone felt like putting them out.

Not any more. Game companies (EA, Take-Two etc.) know that Wal-Mart will sell more copies of games than Gamestop and worked with Wal-mart to get these blockbuster games on the shelves on Day 1.

As for gamestops they order more than 4-5 extra games than the pre-order allotment when it comes to blockbusters. Only reason they want to pre-order is so they can probably gauge sales. They don't want to ship a store 100 GTAs but only sell 25. That's a lot of product that will sit on the shelf.

Eh, those are the type of games that sell out. Mid range popularity games get sold out on preorders at Gamestop and EBs and don't have the demand to immediately be put out by Best Buy, CC, and Wal Mart.

But for games like GTA, Madden, and Halo, they won't sell out on release day. I'm planning on hitting Circuit City up at about 10:30 on Tuesday morning.

I've played about 6 hours of the 360 version, and have no idea what you are talking about. I've never noticed any pop-ins/ups/whatever at all.
