Re: New Prince of Persia game (360/PS3/PC)
Originally posted by BrolicI'm not feeling this game in large part due to the fact that you can't die. I'm one those people who like a challenge, and I like to pay for my mistakes. That keeps me on edge thus pulling me into the game more. Not to mention the animation where Elika saves you from certain falls are cheap and gets repetitive fairly quick.
I've had jumps where I had already hit the ground, and here comes that same animation where Elika seems to be saving you from a long fall. I had instances where I fell into sludge, and once again, here comes that same animation to stop me from sinking to my death. Since this is a sports site for the most part, imagine a sports game where you can't lose to the CPU. No matter how many T.O's you have, no matter how recklessly you play, you still win. That's essentially what this game is, just in a different context.
I know these are the same developers that bought us Assassins Creed about a year ago, but this game is not better than AC, despite the similarities. If I was advising anyone on this game, I would say this is definitely a rental if you really want to play this game, unforuntately, I paid 60 dollars for it. If you're new to Prince Of Persia, and thinking about picking this game up, I would say skip it altogether. This isn't a game that will make you a fan of the series.Comment

Originally posted by BrolicOne of the main problems is she sometimes saves you when you don't need to be saved, as I said before, you could have already landed on a platform, but yet it will go into that same animation. It gets ridiculous after awhile. And the difference is much more than you think. As it is right now, I can jump all over the place without consequence, and without the fear of death, knowing that they will theoretically start me back exactly where I fell to make the jump, or very very close to. So in retrospect, almost every part of a level is filled with check points. Not to mention that the combat, and defeating the enemies is easy. If this game presented a challenge in any way, then maybe people can try to justify the way it is, but as is, the enemies are far and in between, and there's still no excuse for elika saving you when you've already landed on a surface. That's downright corny IMO. This game is way too forgiving and easy.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

That and all the female character is really doing is replacing the "sands of time". I mean, let's face it, it was near impossible to truly die with the sands as well.Comment

Re: New Prince of Persia game (360/PS3/PC)
I just picked this up a few days ago and I love it. I don't mind that Elika saves you when you fall because all it really does is eliminate the loading in a platformer after you 'die'. With the quick revive to the previous ledge, the game eliminates a lot of frustration with dieing all the time.Comment

Re: New Prince of Persia game (360/PS3/PC)
picked up the game this morning($40 @ Gamestop had gift cards) and I'm just not feeling it. The gameplay/fighting system is rather boring in my opinion.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

This is the first PoP game I've played since PoP: Sands of Time and I'm loving it. It's one of 4 games I received for Christmas (I didn't ask Santa, or anyone else, for that many but I still got them) and I've been playing it the most so far.MLB: Cincinnati Reds
NFL: Cincinnati Bengals
NCAA Hoops: Xavier Musketeers
NCAA Football: Miami Hurricanes
NHL: Calgary Flames
