What's the combat system like in this game? Is it kind of hybrid platformer/hack-n-slash like God of War is?Now Playing

Re: New Prince of Persia game (360/PS3/PC)
Not really. Whenever you get into a battle you'll be locked in the fight and won't be able to go anywhere else till you finish. The face buttons control the Prince's sword, Elika, his gauntlet, and an acrobatic move. You'll string those together into combos to defeat enemies.
Also, pressing RT at the right time allows for parries. Pretty simple system.Comment

Prince of Persia Epilogue DLC Revealed
Prince of Persia was one of the last games to hit store shelves in '08. Now it becomes among the first to release major downloadable content in '09. The Prince of Persia Epilogue DLC comes to PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 26. Pricing has yet to be announced. What we do know is that the new POP continues the story of the retail game, ups the difficulty, adds a new power for Elika and attack for the Prince, reveals a brand new location, and includes two unlockable skins that become available after completing the Epilogue. It's a significant update.
IGN spoke with Jamal Rguigui, Associate Producer for the Epilogue DLC, about the upcoming expansion. We learned a great deal about the adjustments being made to Prince of Persia to add some challenge, Elika's new "Energize" power, and learn about the return of someone we all thought was dead.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

I really enjoyed the game, and thought it was a ballsy way to end the game.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.Comment

Re: New Prince of Persia game (360/PS3/PC)
I haven't finished it but I certianly hope there's some sort of conclusion. Selling endings is way too far. Is it a Mass Effect type thing where the main line of that particular story is dealt with but the overarching story carries on?Comment

Re: New Prince of Persia game (360/PS3/PC)
Beat the PC version and it would be a real kick in the nads if this DLC takes the ending and makes it into something less ... well, stupid. PC gamers want closure too. I like the option of ending the game the way it did, but i'd like it better if I also had the option to go in the other direction, not to give anything away. Choice would've been ballsy IMO.Last edited by Tha_Kid; 01-31-2009, 02:28 PM.Comment

I'm amazed that so many people are whining about the DLC.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

I honestly couldn't get through two hours of this game before I had to trade it in.
Having to push L2 just to repeatedly trigger mind numbing dialog is one of the worst design choices I've ever encountered in a game. Why not just do it all with cut scenes?
Throw in zero challenge factor and this game quickly became quite the repetitive bore.
Sorry to be such a downer, usually I'm pretty easily satisfied when it comes to games and movies, but man, this title didn't do it for me at all.
I'll end this tirade with a compliment though, for good measure; the graphics were absolutely gorgeous. It was like an interactive Disney film.Comment

Re: New Prince of Persia game (360/PS3/PC)
Considering they potentially left out the ending to put as DLC as they're refering to as the epilogue, then I fail to see why you'd be suprised. You wouldn't go to a movie and be asked to pay another $5 to see the last 20 minutes.Comment

You're creating things to complain about. No information has come out to suggest that they purposely left anything out. You aren't being forced to do anything.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
