Re: GTA IV Patch Out Now
It might be the drive being picky, although I had played other games recently with no issues. It's always GTA. I just credit it to another downside of this low quality generation. You have to put up with crap hardware and cheap disks just to enjoy amazing games like GTA.Comment

Re: GTA IV Patch Out Now
I'm pretty sure the dde's that you get with the 360 have nothing to do with the discs actually being dirty. At least that's the way it was with my first 360 as well as a 360 that one of my buddies had. I think the laser in the disc drive becomes slightly unaligned or something like that. I ended up sending that 360 in and when I got the new 360 all of the games I was getting the dde's with worked fine... well, until the RROD came... 4 times.. Oh well. Now, more than everComment

Re: GTA IV Patch Out Now
Well, post patch for me has been a success thus far. For the first time since having the game, I was able to go online finally with the PS3 version !!!I've also got it on the 360 so I'm not a noob to the online part of the game. Haven't tried the single player part yet to see if the freezes are gone but atleast one of my problems has been rectified thanks to the patch

Re: GTA IV Patch Out Now
At least some of the people with the 360 version having problems not being able to get past the intial loading screen was attributed to them having a Rock Star Peripheral plugged into the 360 at the time. Saw this on another forum somewhere. A friend was having this exact problem, had taken the game back and got a new one but it did the same thing. He was ready to give up. When I saw this information I gave him a call and asked him if he had anything from Rock Star plugged into his 360. Sure enough he did. He unplugged it and has not had a problem since. Apparently the Rock Star peripheral was conflicting with his regular 360 controller.Originally posted by ImTellinTimIf I lived in Waco, I would find you and kick you right in the nuts.Comment

2K8 and CH2K8 was it for me. I couldnt take the freezes and DDe's in the middle of games anymore.
Looks like your trade off wasnt the greatest either though. Sorry to hear that.Comment

Re: GTA IV Patch Out Now
the 360 issue isn't able to be updated like the ps3 problem was. There was a problem on their side for the ps3 version. The 360 GTA problems are with bad 360's, dying drives, or bad disks. My disk almost always has trouble starting up, even gave me the "wipe this with a towl" message during a mission. I own no other games that do this.#RespectTheCultureComment
