This has really sparked my interest in this game along with Hideki Kamiya's comments.

Yep and there's entire stages that feature gameplay elements from those SEGA classics.

Aw man. I didn't know that remixed versions of both the "Space Harrier" and "After Burner" themes actually played on some stages of Bayonetta. I was thinking they were only available through an options screen outside of the game. That's very nice. Thanks for sharing these uploads.

          Bayonetta is AMAZING!!!

Truly a beautiful game. Action pack out of control. Great control scheme, and a amazing amount of moves.

I am moving on to chapter 4: The Cardinal Vitue of Fortitude.

The boss battles so are epic.

Now on to Chapter 5. Chapter 4 boss is BEAST. It is a good 15 to 20 min fight to beat him.

Hey Phobia, is there any change in the music whenever you get to the boss at the end of a chapter? It would absolutely own if Sega were to somehow include "Squilla," "Ida" or "Valda" themes from Space Harrier on this game while fighting the bosses.

Not sure if those tracks are in, but I really like a couple boss tracks that i've heard.

I am not 100% positive. But I am pretty sure the music was different for the bosses.

The gameplay itself is so smooth and easy to control. makes it a dream to fight and pull of combos.

It seems as if Bayonetta is aiming for the classical orchestra-type sound as opposed to the funky synthesizer keyboard & drums type tunes that exist in most of the Space Harrier themes. Anyway, I like both Bayonetta boss themes that Flawless posted. The piano play in "Climatic Battle" is epic.

6.8 gig install on 360 if anyone is wondering.

Still working on the custom soundtrack.
I already used up most of my appropriate music on Bullet Witch.
If only we could transfer songs from a USB.

Completed the Prologue and Chapter 1. I love the ridiculous over-the-top cheese ball cut-scenes and campy dialogue. It will be interesting to see what others think of how tongue-in-cheek it is in tone and it's parody of sexuality in gaming. I agree with Phobia on the controls and how smooth the gameplay is. It's very much like DMC, but here I'm able to pull off some of the more complicated combos effortlessly, while in the DMC games I had little trouble, especially pulling them off on a regular basis. So, I've either got better at these types games or there's something tangibly better about Bayonetta's controls. Witch Time is a pretty brilliant addition to evade, as it introduces a risk/reward scenario of you can evade early or risk getting hit by waiting for the last second to do s. Pulling off an evade at the last second rewards you with what is essentially bullet time - it's a very satisfying mechanic. Since I'm just getting started the enemies are fodder, so I'm looking forward to some tougher foes to see the true depth of the combat system. I may have to wait until I unlock Hard difficulty, but will see.

Hard will be F-ing insane. Trust me Flaw, the game difficulty ramps up with some of the bosses in Chapter 3 and 4. I am just starting Chapter 5 so we will see how it goes from here but it is getting tough.

Oh and buying new weapons, moves, accessories, and potions (lolly pops). They cost a extreme amount. I am just hitting chapter 5 and 1000 rings short of the new shotguns. 69,000 halos.

I used 15,000 rings on the "break dance" move. She spins on her back doing windmill flares and shoots from both her feet and hands. Good for when surround by standard enemies.

I am thinking of purchasing the Air dodge move. Since I have been caught multiple times trying to evade in the air and not having the ability to do it hurts. I get hit in air combos to often.

LOVING Bayonetta. After I beat it, I am going to pick up Darksiders, then Dante's Inferno in Feb.

Ohhhh I am extremely happy with the Hack and slash the beginning of 2010

Those shotguns look awesome. I thought I got them for free, but then I realized I had to buy them, and I only had 15K halos.

Things are probably so expensive, because you can do a New Game+.

Some dude with the username PTR578 has just uploaded original mixes of Sega classics off Disc 5 of the Bayonetta soundtrack on YouTube, including all three versions of the "AfterBurner" theme, "Splash Wave" and "Magical Sound Shower" themes from OutRun, and the "Space Harrier" theme of that game. I hear the "AfterBurner II" theme whenever playing the retro music on AfterBurner Climax, but I haven't heard the other versions in a long while. Oh the memories!

There is also an 8-bit version of "Mysterious Destiny" included in the soundtrack. My memory is hazy on this particular tune, but I think this one may come from one of Capcom's Mega Man games.
