Just got this off eBay for $15 can't wait to try it. So glad to have a ps3 back I can play the exclusives. That I was missing out on having a Xbox only.

Quick question for you. I just renewed my subscription and all of my characters have been placed in a PVP server instead of the PVE server. All of my frineds are on the PvE server. So how and can I switch servers with my current character? Thanks

So I quess no Green Lantern DLC this week?

They are just on the PVP server by default, phase them over to the PVE server side by taking them individually over to the phase shifter in the Watchtower (or Hall of Doom if you're a villain).

The phase shifter is in the center of the Watchtower. Once you move them over to the PVE side they will stay there.

No exact date for the DLC F4L content has been given by the Devs. I think it is coming very soon though.

Thanks have not read the info on the new stuff. Eveything has chnaged just enough to be confusing. I really appreciate the help.

I hope the DLC comes out soon. Green Lantern is my favorite character and i have been really stoked to play a Lantern.

DC Universe Online Going Free to Play

In October, DC Universe Online goes free to play.

Both PlayStation 3 and PC players will be able to download and play the game for free. Three tiered levels will act as the game's revenue source from there along with in-game microtransactions. Here's the official breakdown from SOE.

• Free
  New players will now have access to the current gameplay in DC Universe Online (including Gotham City, Metropolis, and all current raids and alerts), with the ability to create two characters, join a league and many other benefits. Free level players will be able to purchase downloadable game packs/updates, additional character slots, powers and more through microtransactions

• Premium
  Any player who has spent at least $5 (including former paid subscribers and new players who have purchased $5 of in-game items) will qualify for the Premium access level. Premium level players will have more benefits available to them than the Free level player, including additional character slots, additional inventory slots, and higher cash limits. Downloadable adventure packs, additional character slots, and more can be purchased in-game.

• Legendary
  Maximum features and benefits are included at this level. Loaded with enhanced additional features, Legendary access will be available for a $14.99 monthly fee and includes all DLC packs at no cost, more than 15 character slots, more than 80 inventory slots, the ability to form unrestricted-sized leagues, and many other benefits.

That's cool. Maybe some of my friends will get the game now so we can play online.

I really wanted to play this a couple weeks ago again, but I had a giant update waiting on me that would tie up my PS3, so I forgot about it.

This is a much needed change and I am glad it is happening. Way too many problems for us to be paying for this crap service.

Servers constantly going down, voice chat dropping, text chat dropping, friends lists going away, etc etc.

I've been an avid every day player since this game was released and had not played too much in the past 3 weeks and was seriously contemplating canceling my sub.

I will now cancel my payed sub and only play via the F2P method. Funny that I first read about this here and not on the official Sony DCUO boards (haven't gone on there in a few weeks lol).

Yeah, I canceled a while back because I just wasn't gonna focus on this game enough each month to make it worthwhile. Now I can maybe play a night or two a month and have fun without wasting 15 bucks a month.

Uhh should've thought it through. Hopefully it was $50 well spent. i need something to do for a coupleweeks until 2k comes out anyway. Downloading all of the updates now. Wow it takes awhile.
