Re: Borderlands
Anyone that is on the fence about this game need not be. It basically combines elements (in a good way) of Fallout, Left4Dead and COD/Halo.
I played last night with 3 others from 10 until 3 am and had the greatest time with it.
True the story is non existent and there is no real NPC communication going on, but you really don't care. I think it will lose a bit of the fun factor playing alone, but not by much.
Needless to say, this game probably should be played in co-op if possible and the matchmaking works very nicely to allow you to find people to play with at all times.
We ran into some difficulty because our team had two hunters and two sirens, we probably needed the balance of either two soldiers or a soldier and brick.
However, the weapons are awesome, always sweet finding new ones, the vending machine stores work great, and it is awesome finding new loot.
I highly recommend if you are on the fence to go purchase it and you won't be disappointed.

Re: Borderlands
there is no storage system out side of your inventory. However, your inventory capacity grows as you progress and save claptraps. You can eventually hold a total of 50 items (including what you have equipped).
honestly you wont miss the need to store loot b/c you end up just hotkeying the best items... I usually just keep the best version of each weapon type (repeaters, revolvers, smg, shotty, combat rifle, sniper, rocket launcher)PSN - Briand23

Re: Borderlands
yep. you can fix claptraps you find throughout the game to get more spots, but like he said, you won't really find yourself hording things unless you want to sell them. you may want to keep a backup elemental weapon handy just incase, but you should be fine having the best of each weapon type.Comment

Re: Borderlands
haha, yeah, you should try to make sure the person you're playing with is close to you in level. Since I got the game on Friday, I'm already a lvl 20, but my buddy was only up to a 7 or something, so he was pretty much getting raped by every thing we came across.Comment

Re: Borderlands
I love this game.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Borderlands
From Tycho over at Penny Arcade:
We were sent a review copy of Borderlands to check out for the VGAs, and after an hour or so of play I went over to my computer and ordered that Borderlands four-pack. I decided then and there that I wasn't going to deal with any "should I buy it" or "I don't know man" bull**** from potential comrades. I'm just going to drop a Steam code in their laps, and then gesture in the direction of the wasteland. I didn't really understand that the PC version was coming out later than the console iterations, even though it said as much on the screen, so now I've got several days to itch and sweat while console players learn what I already know.
I know they're real busy over at Gearbox, but a demo would go a long way. I suspect that most people won't understand what they've accomplished here, which is to make good on Hellgate's promise in a kind of Weird West milieu. Thief: The Dark Project was sometimes called a "First-Person Looter," though it is even more apt here - God help you when the shakes start, and your awareness narrows to a dark funnel that only slight variations in statistics may penetrate.Comment
