Dont forget about Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Simply the best game on 360 in my opinion.

        Shooters:
Halo 3: You said you don't play live but the campaign mode is excellent. Difficulty levels from really easy to amazingly hard to keep it fresh. Also supports local co-op with is really fun.
Call of Duty 4: Also an excellent single player experince. No co-op though.
Bioshock: Easily the best single player experience on the Xbox 360 in my opinion. There is no multiplayer, so no worries there. Deep, engrossing, and relatively lengthly game that you will want to play a couple of times.

        I don't play RPG's so I can't suggest any.

Not really a FPS or RPG, fun game but not nearly as good as Chaos Theory.

Bioshock is one of the most overrated games ever. I beat the piss out of that game and got every achievement except beat it on hardest difficulty and the secret one (beat it on hardest difficulty without using a vita chamber) and I honestly didn't see what the hype was over. It's a very bland and boring game. The gun controls were awful. Almost better off using the wrench for the whole game.. Everything looked the same. Levels were small and had alot of backtracking to hide them being small. The hacking gets very old, very quick.

I wanted to type up a big rant regarding this game but I found this article that summed up almost everything that I thought and well documented it. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/98...ated-game-year

I think Bioshock is over rated too,I only played the demo and it got all this credit for being innovative but really I didn't see it doing anything System Shock 2 and Deus Ex didn't already do.

                Halo 3
                COD4
                Bioshock

Those are the two best FPSes. Halo is a ton of fun, especially on Live (when you get good enough) and COD4 is an immensely polished game is also a blast on Live. Bioshock is my least recommended because lack of multiplayer but its a gorgeous game with a captivating storyline.

I'm a RPG nut so here are my recommendations:

Mass Effect- its the best games I ever played, phenomenal storyline and it is the best action-RPG I've played. You can beat this game in under 15 hours if you rush through it, but I've never beaten it in under 35 hours.

Lost Odyssey- best JRPG since Final Fantasy IX. Great storyline that pulls at your heart-strings. Lots of mileage out of this game too as there are some very challenging side-quests at the end. Great Japanese and English vocals in this game.

Oblivion- Bethesda hit a home-run with this game. Yes, the voices are repetitive but this game is very complex. There is so much to do in this game and so many pathways to beat this game.

With these five games, I think you will honestly have no need to play any games for a few months. With the fall update and the ability to install these RPG games to the HD, the experiences will be that much better. Loading times are a minor annoyance but nothing major in any of the games but some degree of loading is anticipated in games as large as these. Having the hard drive will make these phenomenal experiences even better.

If you like these RPGes, there are a ton others coming out in the fall and early next year.

Agreed. To each his own, but I just couldn't get into this game and never finished it. I always recomend it though.. just because I knew so many people loved it.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Once I get settled into the new house, I'll give some of these a try.

I'm thinking Mass Effect and Halo 3.
