I agree. As great as the setting is in this game, putting it in Arkham would make it too redundant. It'd be nice to see what they could do with putting it in the heart of Gotham City. It'd be even better if they could make it sort of open world. The thought of being able to roam Gotham City at will with Batman is drool inducing.

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
Around 12 hours. Depends if you stop and search for the Riddler Challenges and things like that. Plus when you finish the game there is a Challenge Mode that adds alot of replayabilty.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
I finally beat the last challenge room to get me 100% for normal difficulty. Time to go through it on hard and pick up that Mano-A-Mano achievement I missed before.
How is everyone doing on the challenge rooms? I thought the predator levels were the easiest to get done, but I think shaving the times down will be pretty challenging. The challenge fighting rooms, some of those are ridiculous stuff. I am in the top 20 (ranked 11 as of right now) for the Sewer Bat challenge mode and in the top 500 in a couple others. Anyway, the challenge rooms have been very fun and even though I've beaten all the rooms I've been going through trying to up my score.

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
I agree with not using Arkham again, but I disagree with making it open world.
To me, part of the greatness that is this game is the perfect pacing and story telling. It's not open world, but it DOES let us explore a little bit to find the trophies, etc.
This game benefits from how the developers keep it moving forward though, imo. Like Uncharted, they have made it so we feel like part of a fantastic and lengthy movie. I could just as easily watch someone play this game as I could play it myself.
Open world, I feel, would ruin that.
Just my two cents.
[EDIT]
Also, the more I think about it; Batman isn't really an "open world" type of character. He doesn't just wander around Gotham looking for things to do or crimes to solve... and he certainly doesn't interact casually with Gotham's citizens. He has an objective and he goes and gets it done.
I could see the game being "open choice", as in more than one way to accomplish something, but again, not open world.Last edited by Guest; 08-31-2009, 06:59 PM.Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
Actually, I always thought that is what he does. Sure big cases come along or he has to track down the Joker every now and then, but he became the Bat to look over the streets of Gotham and put away all crime.

When I think of open world, I just think of driving around in the Bat Mobile ala Grand Theft Auto or something. Lol. Just seems off to me.Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
Stuck again... this time I'm in the hostage room where you have to drop the chandelier down on the glass for it to break.
No matter how many batarangs I throw at it... the damn thing won't break.

Started on hard earlier today. Fighting isn't really all that more difficult, you just have to use evade a lot more and not rely on the counter.
