And wow, you guys have some shady TRU's where you live.

I am on phone with TRU right now and they telling me they have dead space but can't sell it to me till the 21st....I am waiting on manager to come to phone. this is BS

After speaking with the manager......She said that I can come in to pick up a copy but they are not supposed to sell it till the 21st.

Needless to say after this I am not dealing with TRU anymore....What a shady company!!

I said "So what you telling me is you have the game, the sale ends on saturday, and you are going to with hold the product from me so you don't lose 60$ per person on this sale. Is that what ur telling me?"

She said "Uhhh uhhh hold on one sec" 2 mins later "We ran up a copy for you, we are not supposed to sell it till the 21st but we are holding a copy for you"

This is the manager. Now tell me how flat out shady that is. Not wanting to loss out money on the big titles with this sale. TRU = Crooks!!!

My buddy called me earlier to basically say the same thing.

I guess as well, without a gift receipt, you will get $40 in store credit for any game you return, not $60. This how 2 of the TRU's in my area are handling returns.

This deal used to be awesome, but every year it's got worse and worse dealing with them hiding games, holding back games, and flat out not wanting to deal with customers.

If you want to clean out inventory, make it all games 39.99 and under or something. But when you say "all games", it should be all games, including new ones that release the week of the sale.

I rarely, if ever shop there, and that trend won't change anytime soon, especially for videogames.

Agreed. I mean if it is such a terrible loss for them, then why even have the sale. So instead they are going to lose customers such as us, because of shady managers trying to not lose money with this sale. It is like promoting a sale and then regreting they did so they are trying to just by time till it is over.

That's crazy..wow. My Toy's R Us had Dead Space and Socom...not sure if I will keep SOCOM however.

You have some crazy employees at TRU. I had no problem getting Dead Space and FIFA, I just had to wait until they got them in yesterday. I also got NBA2K9, but I'm not going to open it and who knows if I'll keep it. I got a gift receipt so we'll see what happens if I exchange it.

I waited until this morning and finally got the 3 for 2 deal to work for NBA2k9, Saints Row 2 and FIFA 09. Later I receive an email saying that

"Unfortunately, there has been a delay in the release date of the pre-order item(s) from your order . The following item(s) is not yet available to leave our warehouse: FIFA 09."

It seems as if they are still honoring the 3 for 2, however.

Went to a lock TRU and picked up Dead Space (360), SOCOM, and FIFA (360). It was an ordeal all week just to get them to check for stock for me.

Like I said, they tried skunking me with all Socom, that was until I laded the down the LAW. Dead Space was on the shelf and of course Saints Row 2, I have my daughter this weekend and I'm still yet to open any of the games. I was thinking I should got a gift recite because Of LBP, but I don;t know, I have MGS4 I still haven;t touched and Resistance I never beat that my cousin sold to me for $30 for both. So I have a lot of gaming to catch up on, I also got the first motostorm in its shrink wrap I never opened LOL.


I really wanted FIFA but the manager tiold they sold out quickly, anyway this deal was just too good to let slip buy, and this is my first yea doing it.

So here's how my day went yesterday:

I only wanted SOCOM: Confrontation (with the headset), so I talked to my old roommate and one of my residents, and both of them wanted NBA 2K9 for 360. Only I talked to my resident a few days ago about it, and he said, "Just hit me up when you want to go." So yesterday, when ToysRUs.com said SOCOM was coming in, I text messaged my old roommate, first telling him about the deal, and he said he was in. I called my closest Toys R Us stores to see if they had the headset bundle, and only one out of four of them did and they said they'd hold it for me, so I wanted to go as soon as possible... but first I needed approval from my resident.

Then I text messaged my resident, making sure he still wanted to do it. No response for two hours, and I was in class so I couldn't really do anything about it then anyway. So later I knocked on his door, still no response. I called him, text messaged him again, nothing. Since I had work at 2:00 yesterday I sorta ran out of time to go get it since the Toys R Us was two hours away. It wasn't until later (I found out from his roommate) that the bastard was still in bed... at 2:00 in the afternoon! So, sitting there at work hoping that the guy wouldn't give up my copy to someone else, I also had to find somebody else to do the deal with because the other guy basically just flaked out on me.

I finally got off of work and called them again to be sure they still had it, and they said they only had the one with just the game. I said that's impossible because they said they had it earlier and they'd hold it for me (this was a different person because it was a girl), and she said she'd check again, blah blah. So, I hang up and proceed to call the other ones to see if there was anything different, and there wasn't. So I found another person (who also wanted NBA 2K9), and just said that I'd go buy 2K9 for PS3 right now and exchange it later if I had to.

When I got there and was ready for purchase, the lady (who was a blonde, by the way) was like, "Find everything you need?" I almost flipped her off there and then; they sorta just piss me off when they are unreliable (yes, women). Anyway, I said that I was the person that called earlier about the bundle, and she was like, "Oh, were we holding that for you?" I explain to her the situation, and she said, "Well, there's a copy here behind the shelf, but we were holding it for somebody unless that was you..." and then I said that I told the first person my name, then I told it to her, and she was like, "Yep, that's you! I just didn't say we had one over the phone in case this person's copy was taken. That will be $129.56."



I swear, some bitches just...




I think I'm more pissed off at my resident, though. The guy texts me like right after I buy it and is like, "Hey, so are you still down for that deal?" Did the guy not read ONE of my fifty text messages? Then he gets pissed at me for finding someone else, and I was like, "First of all, you snooze, you lose (literally). Secondly, I couldn't risk my game being sold out." Now the guy needs to shell out $20 more if we wants 2K9, and I couldn't be any happier with that result.

Hey, at least in the end I got my game.

By the way, this deal runs till tomorrow... meaning it ends today. Don't make the mistake of going tomorrow, finding out the deal is no longer valid.
